Muscovy self conscious attempt to take over Kyiv Rus´ heritage...but believe in it, its not OK/Why the West still calls Muscovy for "Russia"? 12:02
Ukrainians speak a form of East Slavic and trace their roots to ancient Kievan Rus' that existed a thousand years ago. The Ukrainian alphabet is a form of Cyrillic. The Ukrainian people's Y-DNA haplogroups include E, F, J, N3, P, and R1a1. Ukrainian people have been found to descend to a large extent from those Indo-Europeans who originated in West Asia (that is, the northern Middle East) - although newer evidence from 2015 suggests that much Indo-European ancestry derives from the Russian steppes - then settled in Ukraine and created the "kurgan" culture. Other ethnic groups with high proportions of the Indo-European R1a1 type include Poles, Russians, Slovenes, and some groups that live on the Indian sub-continent. Ukrainians also descend from older European populations (represented by haplogroup P) and from non-Indo-European Middle Easterners (represented by haplogroups J and E). http://www.khazaria.com/genetics/ukrainians.html The Rus people actually originated in Russia as recent genetic evidence suggests that the R1a people from the Russian steppes founded Kievan Rus, a powerful East Slavic state dominated by the city of Kiev.
Furthermore, the empire of Kievan Rus is traditionally seen as the beginning of Russia by the Russians and Ukraine is their spiritual homeland. The Rus’ were Slavs with the Indo-European haplogroup R1a and there was no clear distinction between Russians and Ukrainians in the 9th century, when they spoke the same Slavic language, and the Yamnaya steppe herders are their common ancestors, according to a recent genetic study. Timothy Snyder may be an expert on modern European history but he does not know much about Russian history.
even Muscovites is beginning to understand Muscovian Mongolian past ...
I agree with the author about it being necessary to look at the history of the region as it lies to better appreciate European history and to have a greater understanding than just what surveys and narrative history teaches. I am just not sure how it relates to modern policy of the west.
the west treats Muscovy as its a successor of the ancient rus (so called Kyiv Rus´) ´, which its not , by accepting mongols of juchi (Muscovite) rights over "rus´" lands , ancient rus´lands which included Ukraine and 65- 70% of Belarus
read the notes Herberstein, please....= Siegmund Freiherr von Herberstein= . He writes that in 1520 there were two of Russia. Lithuania and Muscovy. Herberstein in Muscovy had not seen the " accepting mongols of juchi ". in Russian here. http://www.vostlit.info/Texts/rus8/Gerberstein_3/frametext1.htm
you are mongols juchi, mongols made your country from scratch. you still use mongol Asiatic not rusin (European) form of government this is a fact , why you speak old - Bulgarian, when Belarusians and Ukrainians speak the rusin languages?
1 In Europe it was an absolute monarchy and dictatorship, like the Mongol horde too. 2... ... in 1237 (before the invasion of the Mongols), "Russian" and "Ukrainian" said Mr one language. After that languages began to diverge. Old Bulgarian language has nothing to do with it. 3 ... In the Ukrainian language..... Turkic words no less than in Russian. Even ....even the ukrainian word "Батькивщина" ( "motherland" "fatherland") - a Turkic word. In Russian and Belorussian languages ...... "fatherland" - slavic word "отечество" " матчина"". ( it isn*t " Батькивщина" )

in the form of Institutions NO, GDL was an European state, when Muscovy was an afro - Asiatic one i think you have to start with this: T Snyder is to difficult for you
My answer to you and Weller. 1 ... Russian princes were not friends of the Horde. Russians called Horde Invasion : Divine retribution for sins. Weller somehow forgot about the "Standing on the Ugra". 2 ... Russian kings did not considered themselves the heirs of the Horde. Russian kings considered themselves the heirs of Byzantium. "Moscow - the Third Rome .... the fourth will not happen. " Russian did not say that Moscow - Second Saraj or Karakorum....
1...Those whom you have named - "rusin", referred to themselves as "руськие" "Ruthenian" (before the beginning of the 20th century).Austrians gave this name "rusin". 2...Russian language is different from the Ukrainian is not much more than Bundesdoych from Bavaria. The difference between Russian bases from the base of Ukrainian - about 10 percent. Americans are not interested it, so I will not ship the forum Russian words. I send you a private message. (Did you get my message?) What can you say?
