Fake News. Republicans support your right to buy a Tesla, even if they don't care for them, themselves.

    Punish the fascists

Byron York wrote, '"Twitter, the FBI, and the First Amendment," which delved into the non-mystery of Twitter censoring efforts to publicize the New York Post's scoop on Hunter Biden's laptop. The FBI working for the Biden campaign pressed Twitter and Facebook to downplay the story and stop its spread.'

The FBI now is now the terrorist arm of the Democrat Party, a position previously held by the KKK.

'In June 2016, the FBI destroyed evidence that Hillary used the Internet to disperse state secrets to other nations when she was secretary of state. She used a private server. While the media downplayed her equipment as a home-brewed server, the fact is she is a multi-millionaire who hired experts techs to run it.'

    Security Threat:

"Virtually every email that was sent to and from the Clinton-email server was forwarded to carterheavyindustries@gmail.com, which raised concerns that a foreign actor gained access to Clinton’s emails after an intelligence community inspector general investigator searched Google for Carter Heavy Industries and came up with a result for Shandong Carter Heavy Industry Co., Ltd.'

A Chinese manufacturer had all but 4 of her emails during the time she was Secretary of State.

    Jim Comey buried it.

While Jimmy The Fixer was fixing this, 'he was pressing a FISA judge to allow the FBI to spy on Donald Trump. Only a last minute discovery of an Anthony Weiner laptop brought Hillary's scandal back long enough to cost her the election.'

'In 2020, the FBI was not going to allow a laptop to re-elect Trump. Bill Barr sat on Hunter's laptop and when it became clear that the laptop would make the news, had agents sit on the media to keep the laptop out of the news. Elon Musk revealing Twitter's role in this scandal is a great favor to truth, justice and the American way.'

The question now is what to do about the FBI.

We watched John Durham prove that a Special Counsel won't work.
Defunding them won't work because they probably have enough folks in congress blackmailed. Interestingly this was Congress' original objection to creating the FBI, was that they would use their investigative power to blackmail Congress.

I think that the right President with the right Senate to confirm new leadership through all the appointed levels, including the US Attorneys would be a sensible place to start.

    MY "feelings"? So what?:bored:
And, I will "comment" on any subject that I want to (at any time)...
(Which is why I meticulously follow all of PFs Rules of Civility to a Tee)...
    MY "feelings" on the subject?
Certainly, the "feelings" of 1 Random Poster on an Anonymous Internet Message Board DEFINES Every Dem/Lefty/Liberal in the Entire Country!
    I am totally flattered
    A.J. in GOD MODE!
    Cool...:smdh:
    Here are The FACTS:
    1) At a place like PF which is a Hyper-Partisan Message Board (at which Trump/MAGA Types are Exponentially Over-Represented as opposed to how often they actually appear in the Real World)--This "Hunter Laptop BS" is heavily hyped.
    2) But, in the Real World, to well over 3/4ths of America (those who live outside the Trump/MAGA/Alex Jones Bubble) this "Hunter Laptop BS" is less relevant than a Non-Existent Blip on the Radar...
    As far as Musk?
    I say Bring it On!
If he has "The Goods" let's see it!

Can you give even a single - one - concrete example of “President Joe Biden's administration … directing political censorship operations at Twitter.

    Just one?

Lol.. good luck. Tesla fanboys have no intention of giving up their Tesla despite their hatred of Musk. Tough choice there though, Musk or big oil.

His administration didn't but his campaign did collude with the FBI to do the bidding when he was a candidate. When the government got involve with a private company to ban users on Twitter to tilt the favor for a candidate, it's no longer just a request from the campaign, which were private citizens at the time.

That’s not what the OP said. He said it was the Biden administration.
Are you calling the OP a liar?

There wasn't anything I saw, specifically about what requests were made by the Biden campaign, merely that both campaigns made requests, and both were honored. There is no mention of the laptop, there. Here is a link to my snipping the headlines, relating to the Biden campaign, which it was cited there was NO EVIDENCE, tying it to suppression of the laptop story

Nor did I see anything about the FBI's involvement. Could you share your source with us, Irrational?

    P. is clearly trying to cover for his cluelessness, with a bunch of memorized phrases. He has no idea where proof of the FBI involvement is, nor does he care-- did you see? He thinks wanting evidence of this, is "ridiculous." You are wasting your time, trying to get anywhere with P. And I think that FBI claim, is just something that one of the Righty posters made up.

    @cd8ed

Actually, I found one source for this, from Zorro's post, at the top of page 4:
FAKE NEWS! It was the FBI under the Trump Administration, and they weren't working for anyone else. They were merely expecting supposed leaks, from foreign actors, as in 2016, so were trying to avoid allowing outside nations, to interfere in our election. It figures, this story was in Washington Examiner.

    <Snip>
Turns out there was a complaint to the Federal Election Commission concerning Twitter's action, dating from October 2020, when the New York Post story was published. The complaining group was the Tea Party Patriots Foundation, which alleged that by censoring the Hunter Biden article, Twitter had essentially made an "in kind" contribution to the Biden campaign. The group lost the complaint, but as part of the process, Twitter's chief censor, Yoel Roth — his actual title was "head of site integrity" — filed a declaration with the FEC.

In that declaration, Roth said that
since 2018, he had had "regular meetings with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, and industry peers regarding election security." Roth revealed that in those meetings, the federal government officials said they were expecting some sort of 2016-style foreign election interference in the lead-up to the 2020 election. Here is what Roth said, in its entirety:

During these weekly meetings, the federal law enforcement agencies communicated that they expected "hack and leak" operations by state actors might occur in the period shortly before the 2020 presidential election, likely in October.
I was told in these meetings that the intelligence community expected that individuals associated with political campaigns would be subject to hacking attacks and that material obtained through those hacking attacks would likely be disseminated over social media platforms, including Twitter. These expectations of hack-and-leak operations were discussed throughout 2020. I also learned in these meetings that there were rumors that a hack-and-leak operation would involve Hunter Biden.
    <End>

Where's the part about the FBI "working for the Biden campaign?"

Sure. Just a coincidence that the FBI sat on Hunter's laptop for a year, that detailed Biden's sale of his office as VP, and then shortly before the story broke, went around to the Social Media Giants and warned them of a Big Story about to drop that was nothing more than "Russian Hacking". And the 50 "experts" from the Intelligence Community who all signed on to the election eve claimed that the laptop was "russian disinformation".

So that's your "evidence:" you just know it. Watch out, a good portion of the American people-- I'd say more than "know" this about Hunter's laptop-- know that Trump was trying to stage a coup.

    is this who Musk is?

    https://theovertimer.com/2022/07/th...s-worth-of-battery-locked-for-4500-surcharge/

"Tesla is selling its Model S vehicles with 40kWh battery packs while actually, they have 60kWh batteries that are software locked at 40kWh."

but for $4500, they will remove the software lock, to give you an extra 80 miles

why would they even build a software lock into their software? unlocking the battery yourself is a violation of the DMCA

I find it very odd that you can't just come out and say the FBI doesn't need to be telling social media companies what political stories they shouldn't cover. I find it odd that you don't think it's dangerous when the FBI spreads a lie to ensure social media companies suppress information. This really isn't a right/left thing, this is the very fabric of our country. The media's role is to freely question the government. The media's duty is to question the government. That's the fundamental of being free.

Twitter is not good for free speech. Thats the kool aid talking.
1.The right to LIE, is NOT enshrined in the constitution. Hiding behind a screen name and a platform like twitter is obfuscating who said it, not what they said. Thus anyone can make up anything and in rightwinglandia, and it instantly becomes fact
    2. The core problem with Twitter isn't the posters, its the readers who believe what is said. Twitter makes people believe and give more credence to "trumpguy1784" than to the Department of Justice.

Social media allows everyone to find a source of confirmation bias, not the truth. The "twitter files" were case in point. The twitter files made the claim that the Biden campaign was allowed to get some tweets removed, and people lost their minds over it, and then in 2pt font it said "But requests from both sides, including the trump administration were honored and tweets were changed or removed", which the right promptly ignored. Cut to today, and the "facts" on the right is "Biden stole the election by getting tweets removed!!!!" Yet both sides were allowed to do it, both Biden and Trump, yet Trump was the POTUS and held much more leverage against Twitter than Biden at the time.

But the more scary part of this, is that people are making their decisions on whom to vote for to run the country from "Bob from Scranton" who knows a guy who knows a guy whos brothers cousins dog sitter once overheard a guy who worked in city government that Biden was going to lock up every republican and kill their dogs" because he "read the memo from Biden". Im more worried that people are getting their information from social media sites which are just your friends and neighbors, and not from reliable sources who have vetted and authenticated the message.
