My prediction...2020 will get violent

2020 may get violent, not likely in these parts. We are 65% anglo white, 15% black, 20% Hispanic white in a small city of 150,000 in the area. 0 riots, all demonstrations orderly and lawful, people are generally polite in public and speak to everyone passing on the street.

This may have something to do with our smallish, fiscally sane local government, low presence of state, federal and other bureaucracies, 0 public unions, and very high rate of gun ownership among the lawful citizenry. Our cops aren't the best sometimes, there is some penny ante corruption, but when the governed and those in government live on the same streets, things seem to work out peacefully and fairly for the most part.

The welfare state has done truly IMMENSE damage to my locale over the last 50 years, but not enough yet to result in the violence big blue areas fester in and feed upon.

Democrats aren't anarchists. ANTIFA is not a Democratic group.

This story and this thread indicate to me that the 2020 race will be just as full of negative hype and disinformation online as 2016 was, if not more so. Might be a good year to ignore anti-social media as well as websites of that nature, and maybe do some careful reflection about what is reality versus what is constantly being portrayed online, and about where our priorities really ought to lie, and about the role we all play in shaping our country and our world (spreading this contant anti-progressive, anti-liberal, anti-Demcorat, and otherwise anti-American propaganda is causing harm to our society to the benefit of no one but our foreign adversaries). In fact, take a moment right now to consider that people acting out violently for political reasons are doing so precisely because they are being fed this kind of toxic disinformation and are acting on it. That is what it is designed to do - to poison and destroy our society from the inside. You only contribute to it with this kind of post.

 

Not only that, you have to be pretty damn gullible to buy into it.

 

The Democratic party does not try and stop them either, so while they may not be Democratic backed, they are Democratic condoned.

You left out some categories of lies and disinformation there so I wanted to help you out.

Showing an actual video is not contributing to the problem, it shows evidence that the problem exists and should be taken seriously. If I were to post an accusation with no evidence to support that accusation THAT would not be help matters. Take for example the Smollett story, with a fake video.

Not going to happen. That violent stuff happens on both sides; no one except a few nutcases on both sides are interested in conducting a violent campaign. The nutcases will do time in jail and life will go on as normal. I wouldn't worry too much.

 

And sadly the Republicans (Aka closet commies) will do nothing in an attempt to ameliorate the overall situation with hopes that things will deteriorate to the point of major riots occurring. fortunately the nut jobs on both sides will be few and far thus alleviating a major crisis situation from occurring.
