Things got even worse as it went on. Pelosi and Schumer both called Trump a fr**gen liar on cable TV! It was a hoot.

 

You do understand that the reason she wanted to go private was to be able to say to his face....."You sir, are an idiot". She showed respect for the office.

 

I just never understood how anyone could like someone so arrogant, disrespectful to our nation, and so completely out of touch with the folks whose side she is on, that I could almost puke every time she speaks and is cheered on by her ignorant and uninformed fans.

Not me. I even started several threads making it clear that I believed he would finish his full term, because the Republican Congress and the Republican Supreme Court would protect him. I still believe that. Except that now I'm not so sue.

 

Trump told the world yesterday he would shut down the government if he does not get $5 billion for the wall.

 

The only thing they revealed was their intransigience and gross misunderstanding of the purpose of a wall.

You will continue to be a fan as long as you don't expect impeachment hearings. She did not want them to consume too much agenda and media coverage in the House for Cheney and Bush 'crimes', and she will stop them against Trump. Pelosi will only tolerate so much House time and resources to a goal she sees as more distracting than productive. No point to impeach, if you will get nowhere in the Senate. Its just the Henry Hyde show in reverse.

 

They know the purpose of the wall. Just like every intelligent human being understands it. The purpose of the wall is to throw a bone at the Trump cult so they see the guy is sticking it to latin-american families who are just trying to survive. I actually agree with this, Jake. Both parties are corrupt, it's just the mainstream media allows for the Democratic Party corruption as a matter of bias.

Imagine if Ryan and McConnell had told Obama during a live meeting that they wished to discuss gun control in private, away from the media (as Nancy said). The Democratic Party operatives who pose as journalists for the Washington Post would be having a fit – and rightfully so.

Instead, their take on this is that Nancy displayed why a "woman needs to be at the table."

Fed.gov should be examined with scrutiny, but the media fails to do this when Democrats are in office. And it's a shame, as it has led to the echo chamber ignorance on display here daily...

 

My guess is that he didn't realize NAFTA stood in the way of his forcing Mexico to pay for the wall. At that point he should have taken a less aggressing demeanor. But, of course, that isn't Trump.

I would stop being a fan if she doesn't start impeachment hearings. But there is a difference. For Bush Cheney the impeachable offense was pretty much the fact that they lied us into a war. Plus the fact that we were in a recession that demanded priority. This time the number of impeachable offenses is staggering. Impeachment is just unavoidable. And there is a reason. The fact that this government has been so secretive. The people need to know the facts. Trump has refused to answer. He will not be able to refuse to answer to Congress. So even if unpatriotic Republicans protect him, the public will know. And the scene for criminal trial(s) will be set.

 

Prepare to stop being a fan. She has no problem with investigative hearings or committees such as the Judiciary compelling testimony via subpoena. But even if she has to give lip service to the progressives, she will not appoint impeachment sympathetic chairmen to the relevant committee. One way or another this Speaker with stop articles from getting close to a floor vote.

It is completely out of the realm of possibility that this Senate will come up with the supermajority needed and we all know it. That turns the impeachment hearings into a House of Representatives political melodrama. Everything you want to accomplish in these hearings, the testimony, the public record, the evidence can happen without articles of impeachment being a goal. It just ties up the Senate, the House and even the appellate courts and SCOTUS in an oxygen sucking process that devours time and resources of all three branches. I agree with her. We are already halfway through Trump's first term when voters will have their say anyway, and this process - waiting on Mueller, all the House investigations to complete, and write up articles, then all the court challenges to every potentially controversial call by the special counsel, the judiciary committee and the senate trial, will kill time. It won't be worth it to try to remove him a month before 2020 election anyway. The Hyde hearings were an incredible waste.

 

I think it's going to be difficult for Progressives to persuade enough US Citizens to agree to spread the disaster of California to all corners of the Nation.

 

BS. A wall is a force multiplier. What it does is allow fewer people to enforce more border length. The wall over it'slife time will be far less expensive than hiring another 40k Ice and border patrol agents to do the same task.

I see no reason why she would do that. On the other hand, she will have no choice. But I don't see any reason why she would even hesitate to make that choice.
