Well not really. Nazis were a regime a political party that ruled Germany. Neo nazis are a rag tag bunch of losers and hicks that would have difficulty managing payments on their used car. They aren't even in the same league
Had you offered such a ridiculous hypothesis in Berlin in 1930, it's hard to know whether the Communists would string you up before the SS got to you first! But, after all, this is American Stinker! This isn't the first time they've made laugh out loud preposterous notions!
If I recall the control was the same, but the Nazis let you alone if you did what they told you, but the Communist wanted your mind as well. So there is a minor difference, They both are slaves to big government.Does that help? So we need to decide....which does the left want here in America? Conservatives want neither.
You are absolutely correct. I think neo-nazis try to emulate what they saw on Hogan's Heroes....Colonel Klink and the like.
I don't know about that per se. But I do agree they are a punchline from a very bad joke. Im a Hogan's heroes superfan. I learned all about the actor that played colonel Klink. Shultz was my favorite. They could bribe him with strudel
Both the Soviets and the Nazis were interested in controlling people's actions and forcing their ideals. Communists varied; some wanted big government and some didn't. The Soviets and other Marxist communists obviously did, which is what the OP seems to mean by "Communist". And it is a false choice. We don't have to decide between Fascism and Marxism. I'm a third partier. Neither mainstream liberals nor mainstream conservatives want either. There are fringes on both sides that want authoritarianism. Both sides try to get a lot of mileage out of pretending that the mainstream of the opposite side is the fringe. It is entertaining when it isn't depressing.
Assume the following is correct - Nazis are Socialists and Socialists are Communists... Nazis are Communists [ ] Nazis are not Communists [ ] Nazis are Socialists [ ]
No, but those who are either communists or socialist at heart think anyone who isn't....... is a Nazi. It is just identity politics and finger pointing from the truly ignorant. And I mean stupid as a rented mule.
The Nazi Party for all I know are outlawed in the Germany and maybe the AFD is banned? IDK, I'm not German. I'm British, and a Conservative. But wasn't the EU a German dominated Europe plan for if the Nazis won WWII?
That much is true. But did Great Britain aspire to be Communist? Wait, don't answer that..............they are well on their way to becoming a socialist country. Winston Churchill is rolling over in his grave.
I believe it is Jeremy Corbyn rolling around in his grave as he leads his party, maybe we should deport him to Myanmar, have him help them instead, Theresa May is a fine PM.
I think you'd agree on the first point too. After all the Nazis did run Germany. All joking aside yeah I'm glad you agree with that. I can't imagine these people being more than a a few thousand. The ideologies so incredibly absurd they have to be Legacies are ex felons
I readily admit I don't understand Britain's politics. All that I can gather is it is just as fragmented as the USA. Apparently enough Brits have had a gut full of leftist politics and ways. Ergo Brexit.
Meanwhile, the post I responded to was the exact same sort of identity politics and finger pointing. Edit: or was trying to respond to but screwed up. I was directing that comment to post #37.
I didn't ask what the difference was. I observed that the OP says one minute that, in practical terms, there is no difference. Then we are given the story of the Lithuanian woman and told that, in practical terms, there was a difference. So which is it? And I don't buy for a minute the claim that the Nazis left people alone if they were obedient, as the story of the Lithuanian woman claims.
That's because you think that socialism and communism are the same thing. They aren't. The Nazis stood for National Socialism. That's not the same thing as communism. They imprisoned communists.
