People have died wearing seatbelts too. The fact is, there's a risk of everything in life including COVID-19. Now, we can do what we should to mitigate risks: Social distance, wear a mask, etc. But the idea that staying holed up forever is going to defeat the virus, is wishful thinking.

 

Everybody who was around this new virus in December too! What, were they supposed to figure it out because the Chinese were supposed to know because the inscrutable Oriental ought to know? That WHO or CDC can look in a book and see page 392 from and see what was written there from Jesus?

Too bad Trump didn't do a worthwhile step and locking EVERYONE from China down. His fairly racist idea of locking down the Chinese passports but still allowed 100s of thousands of everyone else in the world to come in and out to from China to the USA was useless.

How could China have been the "linebacker"? It was NEW! A few scientists were signing alarms but the Powers That Be didn't want hear it, just like here in the USA some scientists are raising alarms but that Powers That Be don't want hear it even though we have a huge amount on information NOW but our leaders don't want to hear it either! Even as the WHO, CDC, and China are saying don't do what we are starting to do.

We are now even more backward than in the start of pandemic!

Even as Texas opens up, there are 4 counties in Texas where the hospitals are in danger of being overwhelmed!

It is way too soon for any of the reopenings to have any impact on virus cases and virus deaths.

It wasn't new at all. Obama had dealt with the even worse SARS several years before and done it very well. Not only that but SARS showed epidemiologists how to deal with Corona type viruses and there was already a lot of data on the flu, (which is similar but NOT the same). The CDC and the Pandemic Awareness Office examined several scenarios and even had drills across the US to test out the countermeasures. One of them even had Trump in attendance since he was then the President Elect

So Trumps response to all this was to disband the Pandemic Awareness Office in 2017. And then to act as if the entire thing was a Chinese hoax, then Obama's fault and then a hoax again. Finally the Trump administration achieved complete success with only 60,000 dead and maybe a 100,000 projected. Everyone who wants a test can get one. We are much better off than S. Korea, Australia, Iceland and New Zealand.

And who cares really. I and others have gone over this over and over again. This is truly the most abysmal failure in all of US History, costing more lives in 3 months than Vietnam did in 11 years. It is, in fact, besides WWII in Germany and Japan, the most abysmal failure in that short a time of any government anywhere I can recall. Trumps mindwashed minions don't care. They want to go to war with China now

Across the entire US, the scaremongers could find just two places where the healthcare system is stretched thin- four regional hospitals in a poor city with a population of just 200,000 in the second-to-last most-dysfunctional state in the US, whose healthcare system was crap before COVID even started, and a Southern Californian city on the Mexican border that transferred a few dozen patients to San Diego, because Mexican hospitals refuse to help.

what has been happening states that are beginning to reopen are testing more to see if people are alright to go back to work so of coarse with more testing your going to have more people test positive
so the high positive count is the result of more testing happening not because more people are getting infected

the CDC now is saying up to 30% of the population has the corona virus antibodies meaning at one time they were infected and most of those never showed any symptoms

so if you enter that 30% into the morality rate equation the rate is no worse then the seasonal flu

He's was talking about COVID deaths, which is the proper metric to observe, but the CDC's numbers don't support the claim he made.

 

Cases will spike. It’s about DEATH RATE. If death rate is not rising compared to cases that’s a “good” thing. Another local restaurant in my city just closed. That makes 5 that I know of. Fracking horrible and utterly pointless now. So sad.

 

Even if the death rate does increase, we're getting to the point, actually beyond the point, where the lockdown "cure" is worse than the COVID disease.

Suicides have already begun to spike, and the financial pain of the lockdowns has barely even set in yet.
