Mistaken identity is an infrequent occurrence, and something that happens to some people which is unfortunate. However the police overall do a good job considering the siege they're under.

    Whining racism is so tired.

So you are moving from "never said he was bad" to now he "had a successfull career".

As far as "great", that's your opinion of what a "great" tennis player is. Blake had more than just a forehand. Sounds like you harbor petty jealousy for athletes on the pro stage. Blake has 17 ATP titles on the Pro Tour. You have zero despite your silly claim of having won Emmy's.

Let us know how those "Emmy's" translated into endorsement deals.

Meanwhile, you still have no comments on how the actions this cop took against Blake were wrong.

Actually I expect this officer to be severely disciplined.

Where was the discipline for the police officer who used a prohibited choke hold in attempting to arrest Eric Garner, that led to his death, and was ruled a homicide?

Where was the discipline for the two police officers in the state of California that beat Kelly Thomas to death without provocation or justification?

It wasn't a choke hold and Garner was resiting arrest and challenging the officers to use physical force against him.

Sorry not interested in addressing a list of complaints you want to rattle off, this is about this case.

He deffo wasn't some second tier player. Get freaking real. There are loads that never ever reach the top 20 and show up in all the qualifying rounds of ATP tournaments. That is 2nd tier.

    Irrelevant.
Them cops acting like racist thugs with a badge should have asked him to ID himself, and job done.

Explain the difference between a choke hold, and the technique that was used whereby the police officer threw his arm around Eric Garner's neck.

None of which changes the fact that the New York Police Department Patrol Guide, 2004 Edition, specifically states that a choke hold is not to be used under any circumstances.

    http://www.pbs.org/pov/everymothersson/special_nypd_force.php

It specifically states that no choke hold is to be used at all. It specifically states that a choke hold constitutes any contact with the throat that may prevent or hinder breathing. It specifically states to avoid the use of any tactic that may result in forced compression of the chest.

Therefore, by their own handbook, it was indeed a choke hold, and an outright prohibited tactic.

There is no proof that there was any racism involved here. The OP is nothing but flamebait.

The police said the guy looked exactly like the picture of the man they wanted.
He was arrested in just the way a policeman must use and is so trained to do.'The suspect was considered dangerous.
He was grabbed by the neck, forced to the ground on his belly, handcuffed and then helped to his feet.

It seemed from the videos that the force of bare hands was just about as safe a way for a policeman to grab a suspect.

It doesn't seem to me that police ought introduce themselves when they spot a wanted felon on the street, but should use bare hands at least to cuff the guy.
As soon as they realized they had the wrong guy, they let him go.

248 Blacks killed in 2014 in Philadelphia.

    In Chicago:
    Shot & Killed: 390
    Shot & Wounded: 2229
    Total Shot: 2619

    Black lives do not matter.

If your argument is correct why is the cop suspended from duty and why did Blasio and police chief apologize for the racist brutal assault which injured the victim.

Police do not have the right to cause bodily harm in an arrest.

Perhaps the solution is to raise the IQ of the force and weed out psychopaths.

How about a new crime of not driving while black?

I agree if you consider being in a hotel lobby while black is a crime.

I'll just look at the homicide rate, armed robbery rate, rape rate and interracial crime rate and can put it together quite easily.

James Blake speaks. Very rational and intelligent compared to racist thug cop.

That'd be my take on it too. Though it may have been a needless overly physical take-down(brutality), no matter the persons race.

Then again, he's a tennis player. What does he know about being a Cop, or the case the Cop was working. But I can relate to Blakes complaint. One second he's standing there minding his own business, the next he's being tacked and thrown to the ground.... pretty shocking stuff.

... you are comfortable prejudging every police officer in New York?

Gotta wonder how comfortable he would be about folks using their crystal balls to judge everyone who is black, Christian, a NASCAR fan, fast food worker, etc...

Just kinds seems like the pot calling the kettle prejudice to me.

In my experience, it's not a particularly good plan to let your balls do your thinking for you. *shrug*

Perhaps, because he tackled someone with money and influence. The officer already has a history of brutality complaints. Though, I doubt much will happen to him. Maybe a 2 week suspension with no pay. His union will eventually get his lost pay restored to him with high interest.

Blake knows he was assaulted, injured and that the police committed an offence. There were 5 cops on the case and they could have approached Blake without violence.

There were reportedly 5 cops in proximity to this assault. 5 were wrong in this case. Statistically significant?

You are asking me whether a group of five cops in New York doing something wrong demonstrates all cops in New York share that flaw?

YEP it happens daily...here we call them the jump out squad...Surprisingly (sarcastic) since Ferguson, I cant find it anymore on google but here is a close example. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Jump+Out+Boys
They can legally detain you for 24 hours. On a weekend till the magistrate is in on Monday.
Make that excuse to your boss :p
