One doesn't go automatically from obtaining a Driver's License to the voter rolls just by checking a box, they also have to fill out a voter registration form of which wouldn't be offered to noncitizens and which is checked just like any other voter registration application.

And the real irony is that even though NY has made driver license available to non citizens, few have stepped forward, common sense says that the last thing they want to do is notify the Gov't that they are here illegally
