Couldn't have said it better myself Dr. Paul. This applies to Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum as well...who both decided not to serve....yet they are willing to send brave men and women into harm's way to die in their place.

    Sad really.

Ron Paul, 100% spot on, as usual.

the comment that was posted on his twitter about Jon Huntsman was hilarious, regardless of who wrote it

"I miss the closet. Homosexuals, not to speak of the rest of society, were far better off when social pressure forced them to hide their activities. They could also not be as promiscuous. Is it any wonder the AIDS epidemic started after they 'came out of the closet,' and started hyper-promiscuous sodomy?"

What does having served have to do with implications of sending people to war? Do you think that if they have seen limbs blown off they will be less likely to send troops into harms way?

God I hope not. We don't need a leader with a weak stomach afraid to send troops when we need too.

I wonder what salary would attract more efficient members of Congress for an efficiency wage?

This thread is not about Ron Paul's newsletter's or any other topic.

It is about the rest of the GOP field being a bunch of Chickenhawks.

Stay on topic or have your posts reported.

Is whining about people posting Ron Paul's other words to give us a prospective view of Paul's mind set against your rules??

Did Ron join the Marines? I don't know what his military history is. Was he voluntarily out there in the line of fire? Did he work in the bomb dump with defective munitions manufactured by GM? What did he voluntarily do? Did he command men in dangerous pursuits or did he just do what he was told?

I love to hear the liberal horde criticize people for not going to a war that they thought was the worst war ever.

    I can deal with that.
Ok I have seen the whole comment on TV.
Where was MITT ROMNEY mentioned. ?
( this is the stuff we are trying to ferret out )

    Romney's true record... http://www.boston.com/news/politics/2008/specials/romney/articles/part1_side_2/

Is not of a chicken hawk.
He also served as commander of The Mass. National Guard the nation's oldest..

So here is a tidbit ..OF REAL FACTS..http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Governorship_of_Mitt_Romney

In February 2005, Romney filed legislation to increase benefits for Massachusetts National Guard members.[citation needed] Working with the state legislature, Romney developed the "Welcome Home Bill" which provides guardsman with reduced life-insurance premiums and free tuition and fees at Massachusetts universities and community colleges.[122] The bill also increases daily state active-duty pay rate from $75 to $100, and increases the death benefit paid to families of Guard members killed in the line of duty from $5,000 to $100,000.[123] Additionally, the "Welcome Home Bill" creates a $1,000 bonus for Guardsman and reservists called to active duty in Iraq and Afghanistan since the September 11, 2001 attacks and a $500 bonus for those who were activated for duty elsewhere. The legislation provides a $2,000 benefit for Gold Star spouses and increases the Gold Star parents' benefit from $1,500 to $2,000. High school diplomas will also be granted to veterans who dropped out to enlist in World War II, Korea or Vietnam wars. Romney signed the bill into law on Veterans Day 2005.[124]
In a November 3, 2006 press release, Romney stated that the account that funds the insurance benefits created in the "Welcome Home Bill" faced a deficit of $64,000. The Massachusetts legislature was out of session at the time of the shortfall. According to the press release, Romney transferred money from the governor's office budget to cover the deficit.[125]
Working with the legislature, Romney developed legislation to provide tax exemptions to disabled veterans and benefits to families of fallen and missing soldiers. Romney signed the Massachusetts Military Enhanced Relief Individual Tax (MERIT) Plan into law on August 14, 2006. The bill increases property tax exemptions for disabled veterans and grants spouses of veterans killed or missing in action since September 11, 2001 full property tax exemptions for five years. After five years the spouses receive an annual $2,500 exemption under the legislation.[126]
Romney was also the first governor in Massachusetts history to appoint a secretary of veteran's affairs to his cabinet.[127]
Romney's efforts to assist Massachusetts servicemen were recognized by the Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve, which presented him with the Pro Patria Award[128] and the 2006 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award.[129]

    End.

The military is not an issue with ROMNEY..his support before during and after cannot be debated.,

Ron Paul was a flight surgeon in the Air Force, and then in the Air National Guard.

I mentioned Mitt Romney, not the video.

Mitt Romney did not serve in the military and neither are any of his 5 sons. Yet he is more than willing to risk the son's and daughters of other people. Its very Chickenhawkish.

Most Americans have never served in the military and never will.

More than 90% and headed to 95% of American voters will have never served in the military in any fashion whatsoever.

Should they not be allowed to have a say in when and where the U.S. goes to war or not?

    This isn't Starship Troopers.

    Quote..

" Mitt Romney did not serve in the military and neither are any of his 5 sons. Yet he is more than willing to risk the son's and daughters of other people. Its very Chickenhawkish.'
    End quote.

So you CHOSE to ignore what Romney has done for the vets in Mass. ? over an opinion that uses some flawed logic that you must be military to fight in Wars or send others ?
Glad you supported McCain Last time Over Obama.

This is an all NON DRAFT MILITARY..You are NOT DRAFTED...
A president of ANY PARTY must deal with that decision regardless of How many kids they have.
The fact that many MORE .." might" be DEAD if we didn't keep a strong military presence over seas.

HISTORY shows Paul is wrong on this issue..countries that retract and spend less in defense and do NOT KEEP up a military presence OFTEN give that up to someone else.

Romney is a friend of the military..not the enemy..
    End of Debate.

I wish this message about Newt being a chickenhawk who chickened out of military like Bush/Clinton, yet sent us to fight for special interests and calling Ron Paul who served "soft" I wish this message was put out as loud and clear as possible. lets make t-shirts saying something like (help me out) - "Ron Paul, the only non chickenhawk in GOP"... I would gladly buy and wear one
it has to be short and to the point. this is an excelent point, excelent thread. stuff like this needs to be put more emphasis on.
