I don't think Belichek would do good in College.

So how do we rectify that so that football players are more reflective of society as is the desire of the left?

Again coaching a playing are two different matters which is why so many stars do not become coaches. A quick search found this compilation by someone in 2019

"11 current NFL Head Coaches have played in the NFL. All but 2 current NFL Head Coaches have at least played in college. The 2 remaining coaches played in high school."
    https://www.quora.com/How-many-NFL-head-coaches-have-never-played

Again why do you believe there should be some correlation between the race on the field and the race on the sideline. Perhaps the PLAYERS should be more representative of the sidelines and not vice versa since that is where the money is. Do you think we need more white and hispanic and asian players?

Point one, one reason I would leave him off and second he gets better talent to coach than a college coach although Sabin gets some of the best because so many want to play for him and Alabama............RTR.

I do remember Bo Jackson picking up Brian Bosworth and carrying him into the end zone (painful memory -Seahawks fan). He was a bad first round pick.

Perhaps it takes a different set of skills to be a good coach than it does to be a good player. I would think many of the white coaches didn't have the physical skills to make it in the NFL but have brilliant analytical skills that make them excellent coaches.

They're still "on the job" before the game starts (and after it ends). They've got contractual obligations to, for example, attend pre-game team meetings and the pre-game festivities, and make themselves available for post-game interviews, etc. All that's part of their "job", not just the 60 minutes of game time.

You are a full day late in exposing this..... I recommend a quick search in the forum before opening...

I don't really care, although I find it a bit odd it's only required for an offensive position.... That's strangely specific.

For people who claim not to care about the NFL, almost every story on the NFL on PF.com comes from the right side.... THAT I find endlessly interesting....

I think there are already lots of black coaches on D, much more than in O

Yeah, I read that, but as long as every team is considering/hiring minorities, who cares what specific job they get?? Is there a pay difference between O and D??

That part seems a little silly to me... and is certain to set RW hair on fire.... Well, they're against minority hiring in general, but that condition doesn't help....

More head coaches come from offense. That may be the logic.

Well, that path sounds dangerously like telling owners who they have to hire as a head coach then... If a coach has the chops to be a head coach, whether from O or D, they should get an interview...

I'm not going to argue with the NFL for self-adjusting their own policies, but this one does feel a little goofy to me...

That might be true, but my favorite coach was Parcells and he came from defense, so did Belicheck and Ryan. But I would imagine an offense guy would know more about how to beat a defense than a defense guy would know how to beat an offense. One initiates, the other reacts. But I could be wrong.

They ruin every great American tradition.

Right now they've lodged themselves into every institution - including non-profit boards that run organized professional sports.

It's also not so easy for alternative competitors to get into the game because the TV networks decide who gets airtime.

Yah but that's back when teams played defense lol
I checked and found in 2020 only 11 head coaches were defensive coaches. Could just be a trend, in 2015 it was 17.

All I remember about Bosworth is the hype about him prior to the draft and then not hearing much about him after that. Didn't he make a movie?

Of course there are consequences even when using your rights even when it's you're right to use those rights but not illegal. I'm surprised someone had to explain this to you.

No, let me explain it to you because you don't get it......there shouldn't be consequenses for someone using those rights, they should be defended even if you disagree with what they are saying. Sad that THAT has to be explained to you.

I good manager is not going to wait until he has fired his coach or lost him otherwise to suddenly make up his mind on who he wants. He has an ongoing ranked list, he starts at the top and works his way down. The question is should someone be ranked higher because of their race? Should a candidate be skipped over because of their race. I don't think so.
