NFL to play black national anthem at every game in upcoming season

NFL is the only sport I actually follow and enjoy, for my entire life.

Last year's silliness with the mask-wearing totally turned me off. This 'black national anthem' business means the NFL is less attractive to me. If they are wearing masks again this year, I will be boycotting NFL games.

 

For me it is a "I could not give less of a ****" more than support....but here are the lyrics...feel free to highlight the racist part of it

I mean, the problem I have with our national anthem is that unless you're aware of the history of the conflicts then this anthem does nothing for said person. And in fact it might still do nothing. We have our independence, we won our war against Great Britain. What call to patriotism does this anthem arouse, exactly?

The idea of a national rebirth is appealing. A new nation that unites all, conservatives, independents, liberals and an anthem reflecting that and pride in our union. I'm not lyrically gifted, but I'll try thinking of one.

Would it be okay with you if the black National Anthem was the one used for everyone or does it have to be what the majority of non-minorities want it to be?

easiest way to determine if something is racist reverse black for white and white for black in a statement, and after you do that and if it sounds racist than the original statement is racist

 

Why should the NA be changed, is my question.

For the last few seasons I avoid watching the start of NFL games so I could avoid having to watch the sickening display of militarism and false patriotism.

 

Gotcha, so if the NFL had said they were going to play "Lift every voice and sing" at the start of each football game then all would be good?

nope to late already been labeled the black national anthem
so it makes it all right now to have a white national anthem played
and if you call that racist then once again it shows liberal are nothing but double standard racist hypocrites

 

Culture and tradition. Some people are really big on protecting cultures, perhaps you’ve heard about it.

 

Probably not, but the act of including a new anthem implies (at least to me) that the current anthem is faulty. It seems logical that some time in the future as the NFL slides down the slippery slope, the new song will replace the old song.

 

As I said before, I do not give a **** what they play. I just enjoy watching all the righteous indignation going on.

I believe in the theory of democracy. November 4th/January 6th, 2021 kinda killed that for me.

I don't watch sports too much so I don't care what they do or don't do. I just find it interesting that everybody is cool as long as it's THEIR WAY but including anybody else is written off as them whining. A little too hypocritical/double standard for my taste.

The entire thing is racist, by having a "black" national anthem, and being racist enough to support it. Its inherently exclusive and divisive, and racist by simply needing to exist.

Call it the white national anthem and there would be no argument lol. And dems would be up in arms, burning down cities.
