Could you explain when and where the GOP rejected Obama's wall?

I'm pretty sure it was rejected in the Capitol building.

Senate passed the bill in bi-partisan manner, but when it got to the House, speaker Boehner (Boner) said this:
"We have no intention of ever going to conference on the Senate bill."

We had GOP Senators like Lindsey Graham, Rubio, McCain, Flake etc supporting it, and then Boner killed it as soon as it arrived. It passed Senate with 68-to-32 vote (almost unheard of bi-partisan support in that era). It also included electronic surveillance, increasing number of border patrol, increased aerial surveillance, increase funding to prosecute three times as many border crossers as before, funding to help local LE to deal with illegal immigrants, authorize the national guard to participate in missions related to border security etc, etc

I don't really care. My point was about the WaPo. In any case, I favor more immigration, not less.

Actually the ideas were smothered by the Obama campaign's relentless personal attacks on Romney. As he said, the Dems made a large election about small things.

True. That's the normal Dem strategy. It's also why they are already writing a scathing article about Nikki Haley's "indecision" on whether to be a Trump-Republican or a Republican-Republican. LOL As long as she stays on the Right of center, she is and shall always be "The Enemy".

Left State journalism is trying to drive the wedge between right-wing factions to take the spotlight off divisions among left-wing factions.

It was sort of funny that the only things the Obama campaign could really come up with about Romney, as a person, was "magic underwear" and a "dog on the roof of his car". That's of course out side the blanket 60-year old line "Republicans are racists," started by LBJ, which no one even believes anymore except for a portion of people in the left wing.

100%, but you are leaving out half the story. The right is doing everything it can to paint a moderate Blue Dog democrat as an extremist.

What moderate Blue Dog democrat? Is there one remaining, besides perhaps Joe Manchin?

Most of the old blue dog democrat voters, who had not voted at all for years, voted for Trump in 2016. The left "lefted" the country years ago. :)

You provided no links or name of the bill, but if I had to guess, it was one of the amnesty bills you are referring to. Sorry, the wall couldn't be high enough for me to want my reps to vote for that sort of garbage.

Do you even remember a single idea of Romney's?

He never struck me as an idea guy.

I don’t know what you mean by the “cultist” working for Trump.
But everything I referred to is backed by Forbes. Forbes, you know, the guys you want to kiss the butts of if you want to rub shoulders with Fortune 500 snobs. Really, Forbes posting is a big reality check for Trumpers ?

So really, they are looked at as pariahs.

People will always find some excuse to reject bills. Heck, GOP even rejected corporate tax cuts on multiple occasions. They can't stand it when the other "team" proposes something, even if its something they have been calling for for a long time. This time though it passed the Senate 68-to-32 vote, which was looking promising. The wall would be complete by now.

Maybe its like abortion. The GOP prefers to keep it because it is a valuable campaigning tool. What would they run on if abortion went away? They'd never win elections again.

ACA was pretty much his idea, since it was modeled after MA system, which Romney helped create.

He was hit with the worst economy since 1929. His first priority was to save the lives of middle class workers who lost their jobs and their health insurance for they and their families. So blame Obama for not being tougher and telling the millions of MIDDLE CLASS ( not poor) to suck it up and die for the good of the gop economic plan which resulted in their loss of their insurance.

After this post, I have no doubt that when the real poll comes out, a lot of trump supporters on this board will be changing their handles.
From the mid term on, every election was about Trump....and the gop lost everything. So great, run him again. He’s a loser.

Abortion isn't the topic. But yes, I would oppose a bill that I thought was harmful and totally disagreed with, like an amnesty bill. In fact, from your response, even though you tried to hide it, it looks like I hit it right on the head; you were talking about an amnesty bill.

In 1986 Reagan signed an amnesty bill. Oh yeah, it had some enforcement provisions that were never enforced, but the amnesty part certainly was. And that would likely be the case with an amnesty/wall bill. We would definitely get the amnesty, but probably would never get the wall.

And that hurt him in the GOP primaries. It was a bad idea.

In every ligit dictionary that defines the word “cult”, it seems to match the situation to a “T”. Let’s see.
    CULT-
A misplaced or excessive admiration for a particular person or thing.
"a cult of personality surrounding the leaders"
    synonyms:
obsession with · fixation on · mania for · passion for · idolization of · admiration for · devotion to · worship of · veneration of · reverence for

    Yup, that’s the right word.....

Well, Obamacare was modeled after Romneycare....which really only indicates how few original ideas Obama had, and then he picked the worst ideas from the crop of bad ideas.

    So, there's that.

Did you pay one minute of attention to how well Republicans did in the House, Senate and Governors' seats in 2020, after all polls showing a "big blue wave" which turned into a low tide?

    Do you follow politics much?

    Really, you can’t be serious.
The Dems won them all...guess you didn’t pay attention.
Not only that, but the runoff election in Georgia originally had third party conservative candidates who siphoned off votes from their gop counterparts. You’d have thought without them, the gop would win. Nope, Dem MINORITIES won going away. Why ? Because again, it was all about Trump and even many republicans and indies who supported the gop, came out against Trump. Open your eyes. He’s a loser.
