We're talking NOW. Everything Pelosi wanted is in the proposal so why won't she pass it?

I surely do get that. You are proving the point that he is using government workers as a bargaining chip in his 'negotiation'. Thanks for that.

Oh, I see: Republicans are not merely wrong, in your opinion; but they lack "integrity."

In any case, if you were to eliminate just one state--the state of California--Donald Trump would have had more popular votes that Hillary Clinton managed.

Are you saying, then, that California--which I will not even begin to describe, as I would surely use words, then, that would result in my banning from this forum--should, by itself, decide our presidential victor?

Or even, for that matter, that California, New York, and Illinois should (as I posited previously)?

I am truly hoping that you will not avoid the question this time.

Ok. If republicans lost the EC but won the popular vote — especially four times — do you believe they would just be sitting back going “oh that’s just the system”? Even trump was against the EC before he was for it.

California is the sixth largest economy in the world. That you want to eliminate them simply because they don’t agree with your agenda is disgusting.

Remove evangelicals — trump would have lost the EC
Remove the elderly — trump would have lost the EC

Furthermore California by itself does not determine the victor so your question is absurd.

OK, since you can't adress the point (because you already know that I will bury you in backup), you just make something up that has nothing to do with the subject at hand.

Sorry, but you don't seem to be able to grasp the idea that trying to put words in other people's mouths doesn't improve your lack of an argument.

    An excellent point.

Imagine if the situation had been reversed in 2016.

If Trump had won the Popular Vote and lost the EC.

His conspiratorial fever swampers would've been delusionally screaming that the "Election was stolen by the Deep State", Appalachia and every Trailer Park in the Rust Belt would've been turned into Combat Zones (due to a bunch of crazed gun worshippers) and they would've had to mobilize the National Guard to restore order (after several murders and suicides courtesy of Trump's RW).

    As far as a "deal"?

    There is nothing to negotiate.

Trump need to drop the Wall demand (as a pre-condition to reopen the Gov't) or the shutdown lasts until 2021.

The Shutdown is 100% on Trump. Period.

That's especially funny since Schumer and Pelosi won't even negotiate.

Nancy and Chuck havent fixed our broken immigration system and theyve been in government for 20+ years.

To blame Trump for it, is just dishonest

How about if Trump's proposal is put on the Senate floor, but amendments make the bill acceptable to Pelosi and the HR so that the government can reopen. The final bill would cut out the money for the wall.

I think if dems ended the refugee loophole enabled withholding of funds to santusry cities and states and funded $5 billion for non wall hardware and personel I could accept that

The libs claim they are for real border security

That is one way they could prove it

Then we can fight over the wall during the next CR

    Yeah.

Forget about dealing with refugees or sanctuary cities.

    BUT,

I could live with the bolded section.

    Let's get it done.

If you had a good plan you wouldn't need to "fight" over it.
