in defense of Donald Trump I will say that the change in the amount of people trying to emigrate from unrest in South America started the increase in 2014 when Obama was President.

however it is my feeling that trumps policies have created more unrest in those regions because we are cutting funding for them to have money to try to combat evil

A day, a week, or even a month wouldnt even measure a blip on the radar. Mexico isnt going to let it go over a month. You are fear mongering. The world is NOT coming to an end.

The market does not react rationally. The amount of products made in Mexico that are imported by the US amounts to tens of billions of dollars. Tourism amounts to tens of billions of dollars.

Even if Trump says it’s only for a month, he is a known liar and cheat, so the market isn’t going to believe him.

We absolutely will go into a depression. The trade and other traffic with Mexico is worth a lot more than the sub-prime mortgage industry and that caused a major recession.

But by all means, please do it. Whatever damage is done to our economy will 100% be worth it by making Trump a one-term president.

It’s impossible to predict how long it would take. The market is irrational when crises strike. As I said before, when Israel invaded Lebanon, oil futures yanked the same day and neither country even has oil.

But to reiterate: please close the border. In fact, we should definitely do what another poster said and close all of the ports as well so all customs officials are redirected to the Mexican border. Please implement these plans.

 

The market is irrational when crisis strike, but it also returns to its fundementals in short order. Just like when the government shuts down, a short market blip means absolutely NOTHING in the long term.
