YOU said, "The absence of a real accuser has everything to do with deciding if the story is true or not

    Without facts its just fiction."

I am accusing someone of parking an SUV at the end of the driveway next to my house.

According to you...the story is fiction.

    Right?

There is no SUV parked where I (an anonymous source) am saying?

Barr has a very specific reason to submit his nineteen page resume to Trump explaining how he would be the correct AG choice to bury the incriminating report.
We need not wonder why Barr wanted the job of AG...AGAIN!!!

And you are NOT encountering it with me. I think Hitler, the guy who was going to make Germany great again, was a disgusting abomination. I just happen to think he was smarter and a better speaker than Trump...who I also consider to be a disgusting abomination.

The way any of us know how smart anyone we encounter. Listen to what the person says...and how he says it.

Trump doesn't even know where his father was born.

Trump is a classless boor. If you want to admire him...be my guest.

That could be...but that was not what was being discussed.

I was discussing with someone claiming that every story without a name associated with it...is FICTION.

I acknowledge such a story might be fiction. May stories with names attached are fiction also.

But the suggestion that all stories from anonymous sources are fiction...is absurd.

I did do that. And I stand by it. I cannot understand how the people of 1930's Germany did not see through Hitler...and I cannot see how the people of 2015+ America cannot see through Trump.

But...the fact that they cannot (or will not) makes the former more clear to me.

    That was my point.

Trump could prove to be of more harm to America than Hitler was to Germany...and of more harm to the world than Hitler was.

And you are free to do so.

Just as I am free to see him in a darker light.

If YOU said a black SUV is parked in front of your house, most people would likely give you the benefit of the doubt. However, if someone said (NYT) that a unknown neighbor (anonymous sources) said that you said there was a black SUV parked in front of your house, some people would be a reasonably skeptical.

THAT is a huge departure from what you originally said.

Let's not move the bar around so much.

In all sorts of ways. For one thing...Trump has a LOT more firepower at his disposal.

Lots of others, but I'm not much into jumping through hoops.

You can think of plenty of ways on your own.

You need to keep your posters straight. I have not said anything at this point. I was just commenting on your post....and since it was not a private conversation and on a public forum, I though it was open to all for discussion.

So, you think he will start a war or launch nuclear missiles? Well, he certainly has more firepower than 1940 German...but so does the rest of the world. So far, we have seen no indication of any provocative wartime stance from Trump.

Not asking you to jump through hoops. I am seriously interested on how or why you think Trump can be more harmful to America than Hitler was to German...or how you think Trump will be harmful to the world. To be honest, I can not think of plenty of ways.

If you really do not want to discuss it, that is ok...it just makes me wonder why you are on a political forum though. This place is for discussion of ideas and opinions. Just throwing stuff on the wall and seeing what sticks and then not providing reasoning seems a bit disingenuous.

With a Russian who was a lawyer as favor to a friend.

"“It was stupid if it was anything,” says Rob Goldstone, the music publicist who was thrust into the center of the story when the meeting was revealed by the New York Times in July 2017, immediately upending his life and making him a social media target.

He says Barr’s letter does give him some sense of vindication — albeit Goldstone was never a subject or a target, but a witness. Yet Goldstone doubts that the scrutiny over the meeting will cease.

In his recent book and many interviews, Goldstone says his email was “overly puffed up,” a PR person’s embellishment to get Trump Jr.’s attention.

Trump Jr. set it up, and Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort joined in the meeting, but Goldstone says it was a bust. The lawyer ended up talking about Russian adoption.

He says he apologized to Trump Jr. at the end of the meeting and he said to him, “I just have no idea what that meeting was about.”

Goldstone is naturally interested to read what Mueller says about the meeting, but “we haven’t seen the report. Maybe it says [the Trump team] were idiots. Maybe it says that they didn’t know any better. Maybe it says that they were naive. I don’t know. But those would be words that wouldn’t surprise me if they were in there, that it wasn’t conspiratorial. It wasn’t criminal. It was stupid if it was anything.”

No collusion, no conspiracy, indictment. So why did this Russian lawyer meet with Fusion GPS just before and just after the meeting? THAT is what needs to be investigated.

The left is so full of ****. Trump is doing just fine, and is in no way harmful to the USA. Quite the opposite. Now, get over your loss, and try again in 2020.

I did mistake our conversation with the one I was having with Mac7. I was wrong...you are correct. My apologies.

Of course the conversation is open to all...and I welcome your comments.

I did not say I think he will.

Where did you get that from?

    Really?

Okay. Lots of Germans in 1930's Germany did not see indications of provocations from Hitler either.

I think you are trying to get me to jump through hoops...and I also think you are intelligent enough to come up with many scenarios that fit that bill.

Do it...don't do it. Matters not to me.

If what I am saying seems disingenuous to you...I will have to live with that.

I disagree with you...but we will see what happens in 2020. If enough Americans want Trump to be the face of our nation on the world's stage...he will be.

I sure hope that does not happen.

No one believes Barr's memo. He didn't digest 400 pages in 12 hours.

Well, you did say that Trump has a lot more firepower at his disposal. I assumed you were talking about military firepower...and since the biggest "military firepower" is nuclear missiles.......

I would say that an inference of potential war is a logical one when someone says "well, he has a lot more firepower at his disposal".

So again, I ask, what provocations from Trump have you seen that makes you think our country or the world could be worst off than 1940 Germany? Yes, Trump certainly spouts rhetoric...but his rhetoric has not been much worse than some of that we have seen from other Republicans and even Democrats. I would think that "being worse off than 1940 German" would require us to have a World War and have 6 million civilians rounded up and slaughtered. Can't get much worse than that.

If the Democrats do not put up any better candidates and don't stop shooting themselves in the foot, he has a good chance of winning reelection. Personally, if the elections were held today, I would likely vote Biden out of all (if he was running) of the candidates. However, the extreme left seem to be torpedoing Biden's run even before it begins. The reason I like Biden is I am confident he will not divide this country as much as it has been divided over the past 10 years and he is fairly moderate....and it is guaranteed to produce a lot of comedy/memes. However, when looking at the other candidates on the DNC ticket, I would rather have Trump.

The question was, "How could he do more damage."

That is one way he could.

I suspect (and seriously hope) military leaders would intervene if he tried to do it in a peremptory way.

    BUT...he could.

In any case, I did not say I think he would.

I appreciate your persistence, but if you cannot easily see how he could do more damage in today's world than Hitler was able to do in his...something is wrong.

I still suspect you are looking for hoop jumping (not the most uncommon thing in Internet discussions).

Use the possible use of force as a most emphatic one. That is the only hoop I will jump through.

I certainly do not see a Trump re-election as a long shot. He may very well win again...the same way he won last time. Even though he was bad-mouthing the Electoral College...it definitely favors him right now.

I'm having a hard time coming up with a favorite...although I tend to favor people who have previously been a governor or mayor of a big city. A guy I like is former New Orleans mayor, Mitch Landrieu...but seems he is not interested.

Notice how you were careful to leave out the part about Trump's lies, his attempt to falsify statements, and the fact that the person Goldstone set the meeting up with actually IS a Russian intelligence asset.

And it is interesting to note that you seem to have normalized all the unusual and highly questionalble routine contact between Trump campaign officials and Russian intelligence assets.

Of course, now that Trumpsters are braying the Russian propaganda straight from the source, who knows what your Kremlin handlers will tell you is normal next.
