Obama as a lame duck president

This guy has proven he is lawless and has contempt for America and it's people.

I was just thinking about his sudden recollection about a campaign promise to bring the troops home. Funny how his numbers hit all time lows and the GOP hopeless, er I mean hopefuls are getting tons of air time and he's looking at re-election - oh, yeah, how about if I follow through on some of the things I promised.

If this guy is president and has no concerns about re-election just what is he capable of and can America survive it?

 

I don't even want to think about it. The threat of being defeated in 2012 is the only thing standing in his way. 2013-2016 will be very bleak times if Obama is reelected. Look at how much damage he has inflicted in not even 3 years. And this is him trying to make the case that he deserves another term.

 

Bill Clinton gave a lot of presidential pardons to prison terms, just wait until Obama gets the axe in 2012. 2.5 million prisoners will become 1 million (or whatever the black population in prison is).

Question: Assuming that a more Conservative Republican party retains the House and increases their majority there as well as retakes the Senate with a Supermajority, would that help the country from an Obama dictatorship?

 

I don't know.
We already have a supercommittee disenfranchising congress (ie. us, regardless of how lamely they represent us), what other mechanisims would King Hussein, er I mean President Obama use to nullify congress?

 

The last barrier to an American tyranny would have to be the SCOTUS then.

I thought a lame duck president was one that couldn't virtually hurt our nation anymore than he already has. In other words, he has zero ability to pass legislation of any kind, and thus he becomes a wounded or lame duck. On the surface it looks like he doesn't have that legislative bailiwick he once had when he pushed through that socialized medicine monstrosity and all, but its the other factors like his bailing out the banks and creating this protest movement against the 'haves' that has me concerned.

If this clown does get re-elected in 2013, you can bet your bottom dwelling dollar that the socialist protesters will have won a victory over the common sense Tea Partiers, and that the One Worlders would have won the day and the future. Every presidential election seems to be the most important one in our history. But if clown-in-chief wins this next one; you won't recognize the America we all love, for it will become a total nanny/centralized state where one won't be able to wipe their ass without first getting permission from a higher authority to do so.

 

Most of the posters on this thread should take a deep breath and then let it out (although one or two can hold it until you pass out from outrage). President Obama has a poor chance of being re-elected; only if the Republicans pick a terrible candidate who turns off Independents will he possibly get back in the White House.

Having said that, Barack is not the antichrist. He is no more lawless than George Dubya was and American democracy wasn't destroyed under his Presidency either. Most of the spending and deficit increase was done with the tacit consent of the Republicans (although not Obamacare) and the Tea Party influence should serve to put the brakes on that. The only thing the President can do when faced with a hostile Congress is to appoint Supreme Court judges, veto bills and get into foreign adventures.

SCOTUS is not a problem because the liberal judges are the ones about to retire: the best President Obama could do would be maintain the status quo and he couldn't appoint anyone too objectionable because they'd never survive the Congressional hearings. Vetoing bills could be very annoying, but depending on the bill either the Republicans or the Democrats will take the blame and what's disastrous about that? Foreign adventures are about the only area where Barack could get us into trouble. Iran is a big question mark, and if over-rapid withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan creates an obvious mess this could leave us with the modern equivalent of Vietnam syndrome.

As for somehow seizing power extra-legally, how on earth is a left-wing President going to get a right-wing military to go along with such a scheme? The idea is farcical and anyone who buys it for a second should be ashamed of their gullibility! Jimmy Carter didn't stage a coup d'etat and neither will Barack Obama.

 

A lame duck president is one who is at the end of his tenure, such as a second term president.

He has no accountability accept to his party and Obama has already shat all over the Democrats as well as the Republicans.

I think this guy will be truly dangerous with a second term.
He has already proven he'll circumvent congress and constitutional law where ever and when ever it suits him.

If Obama is re-elected, our nation will never be the same again. we will have lost more freedoms, have more regulations and laws put on us and we won't be able to recover.

Obamacare will never be able to be repealed and we will be stuck with it forever, which will drag our economy even further.

we need a real patriot, a true leader and someone who has shown that he can solve problems.

His case is if he can convince the people the Repubs want dirty water and want to starve them all to death.......LOL The man has nothing to run on, he did not want to send all those men home, he was thrown out...!!!
