He only ramps up the fight against ISIS, when the media's reporting makes it obvious that the group is still a problem. So he has an obvious solution. But then the media reports on Yazidi genocide and suddenly Obama looks stupid and has to pretend to bomb ISIS. Or ISIS massacres a whole bunch of people in Paris and then Americans start to be "afraid" and then Obama has to pretend to bomb ISIS some more. Can't we all just pretend to agree that ISIS doesn't exist? That means no reporting on ISIS. If you are about to be killed by ISIS, please don't call the police. That will just perpetuate the cycle of violence since we all know fighting terrorists, just creates more terrorists. And if we all commit to pretending ISIS doesn't exist, it'll instantly be defeated because its real motivation is to get Americans to hate Muslims. At least that's what the media says. Remember now repeating the Obama mantra, "There is no ISIS", three times, spin around twice counter clockwise and click your heels together will make it all go away. IMO, analysts at CENTCOM were pressured to ease off negative assessments about the ISIS threat and were even told in an email to cut it out. Sadly as the investigation expands into whether intelligence reports were altered to present a more positive picture this also will be swept under the rug.
The quote in the article can be taken to mean a myriad of things, but I don't think he is worried about the reporting on Daesh more than he is worried about the media OVER-reporting Daesh. The more air-time we give that group, the more credence and PR that will come out of it to support it.

My Team and I were in Iraq and had just finished doing a JOB when we were asked to help solve the problem when the ISIS had trapped 50,000 of those Yazidis who fled into the Sinjar Mountains after the ISIS massacred approx. 5000 Yazidi men. The ISIS had trapped over 50,000 mostly women and children and men atop a mountain without food or water and would kill anyone who tried to come down. As I am not Military although my Team is and because we had just finished a JOB and were very tired I allowed a vote as I can either accept or refuse any JOB presented to me. I am very proud of my kids because as exhausted as they were all of them voted to help those people. I can't go into operational procedures but I can say that in this case I ordered a snatch and grab of one of the members of ISIS and what we found was that the members of the ISIS are primarily former or current criminals or criminally insane along with a large number of them having mental health issues. There is not a lot in the way of Mental Health care in the Middle East and usually such people are thrown in prison and never given any care. A small group of people PURPOSELY opened up the prison doors in exchange for a Oath of Allegiance to develop an Islamic State of Iraq and Syria Caliphate. The group of ISIS leadership is using a doomsday scenario to manipulate those unfortunate mentally unsound and in many cases criminally insane Muslim men with promises of being given multiple wives at ages starting at 7 years old in exchange for their allegiance. The members of ISIS are NOT SOLDIERS!!! Not even close. They are a bunch of crazies who have weapons. We did out JOB and it took about a week and we all felt like we were College Graduates going against Kindergartners on a standard test. The members of ISIS look all big and bad and terrifying to some poor villagers who are just trying to live their lives.....but against us...and they out numbered us by a factor of 30.....they acted like terrified children and they fled as fast as they could when word got out that an American Team was on the ground. Assad is not concerned with ISIS. Assad is worried about the U.S. backed FSA or Free Syrian Army and even we have to be careful about the FSA as many members of Al-Nusra....the arm of Al-Qaeda in Syria....have infiltrated the FSA. Point is...if the U.S., France, NATO and Russia get their S#!# together and meet and make a plan.....the eradication of the ISIS and Al-Qaeda will be quick and easy. But in order for these groups not to regrow the Arab League must be on board with this plan. And there is only one thing that needs to be done to get the Arab League on board. THE REMOVAL OF ASSAD!!! Because the removal of Assad will allow that LPG pipeline and oil pipeline to go through Syria. That's why Putin is so interested in Assad staying in power. If the pipeline goes through Putin loses "beaucoup d' argent".
There is going to be some sort of DEAL made over this as well as the proposed Arab and Islamic pipelines. Putin went into Syria to create a BARGAINING CHIP. Russia desperately needs U.S. help to fix the Russian economy which is shrinking at a rate of 4.5% annually. The U.S. is the only nation both capable and willing to help Russia. Putin knows this. Funny isn't it, we both are up on current sit-rep regarding the ME, Russia and what's going on in the sand box. To read and hear the Progressive Left on the subject, they are completely in the blind except for whatever lies Obama tells them. ISIS was created by Obama his Muslim Brotherhood friends, Qatar and the Saudi's. Oops almost forgot Turkey and Iran.

He's not saying that the government should ignore ISIS or that even the media should ignore them. But the hyper crisis atmosphere that the GOP and the media is engaging in is only helping them. What does any terrorist organization want? Attention and legitimacy. Republicans and the media are giving them both.
One good thing came out of this. The French finally have woken up to realize they need to get with the program. Prior to this the French resisted almost every plan we wanted to run but now the French are asking us to join them to wipe out ISIS. Funny how when something happens to YOU.....perceptions change.
