Obama Met With Ferguson Activists – Said He’s Concerned They “Stay on Course”

President Obama met with Ferguson protest leaders on November 5th, the day after the midterm elections. The meeting was not on his daily schedule. He was concerned that the protesters “stay on course.”

    What does that mean?

And why is the president meeting with the violent Mike Brown protesters before a verdict is reached in the court case?

The Ferguson protesters have looted over 100 businesses in the St. Louis area.

The New York Times hid this in the 21st paragraph of their report:

But leaders here say that is the nature of a movement that has taken place, in part, on social media and that does not match an earlier-era protest structure where a single, outspoken leader might have led the way. “This is not your momma’s civil rights movement,” said Ashley Yates, a leader of Millennial Activists United. “This is a movement where you have several difference voices, different people. The person in charge is really — the people. But the message from everyone is the same: Stop killing us.”

At times, there has been a split between national civil rights leaders and the younger leaders on the ground here, who see their efforts as more immediate, less passive than an older generation’s. But some here said relations have improved in recent weeks.

Some of the national leaders met with President Obama on Nov. 5 for a gathering that included a conversation about Ferguson.

According to the Rev. Al Sharpton, who has appeared frequently in St. Louis with the Brown family and delivered a speech at Mr. Brown’s funeral, Mr. Obama “was concerned about Ferguson staying on course in terms of pursuing what it was that he knew we were advocating. He said he hopes that we’re doing all we can to keep peace.”

Obama wants the protesters to stay on course?
    Unbelievable.

Yes unbelievable. Where is his support for the police officer who has had his life turned upside down for just doing his job? What will Obama's position be if there is a no bill and no civil rights charges? What course will he want stayed, we continue to apprehend and arrest street thugs and if they attack our police officers face lethal force to stop them, or support the street thugs committing such crimes and endangering the public?

Obama's a lost cause anyway, he might as well continue to support race-baiting and the wrong side of the law. Just like Trayvon.

Simply amazing when the president of the United States works so hard to divide Americans

    "Stay the course" means...

"kill them cracker ass honky mother (*)(*)(*)(*)ers", "burn down their businesses", "send a message this is about color and not rule of law"

That's what I took away from this race hustling president. He is at the same level as Al the drug dealer Sharpton. Hey, maybe that's where Obama bought his blow from, Al Sharpton? I hear Al gave Obama an 8 ball when he was there at the white house

I hope the law enforcement unions see how Obama is turning his back on them for a thug that was a threat to the public. The union should abandon the Democratic Party for good.

0bama could do so incredibly much to heal and advance race relations. Instead, he charges backward. What a horrible waste of skin that hideous man is.

Instead of pleading for peace, he is feeding this, and its really insane, like scary insane. He could have said, hey, lets relax till the reports come back, but no. He is not a good guy.

Have we heard one statement from Obama to the tune of "you know the police have a very difficult and dangerous job to do and have to make split second decisions that could mean life and death for them as they carry out their duty to protect the lives and property of the law abiding citizens of this country so let's all calm down an wait for the grand jury decision and then honor that decision."

But Noooooooooooo not a peep in support of the police officer and what he and his family are going through.

Obama is more than willing to prejudge a case as long as a Black man can be made the victim because with an energized Black base the Democrats can gain ground. Why does he lie in such a way? Because he thinks the Black voters are stupid enough to believe him.

There's an interesting twist to these protests. I agree, this isn't your momma's civil rights movement. Political correctness has backfired, to the point where younger generations of black people have no depth of appreciation for the non-violent movement that finally made them Free at Last.

    Divider-in-chief.

Race relations have deteriorated under his regime, not improved. Electing the first black President in U.S. history has not inspired, it has discouraged...the black community is worse off today than it was the day before Obama's first inauguration. Black unemployment, particularly for young black males, is higher...black on black crime is higher, again particularly among young black males....personal income is lower, again particularly among young black males.

He hasn't inspired anyone to achieve greater things, his "people" have in fact regressed and race relations are far more tense than they have ever been post-civil rights.

Yet despite this, he refuses to keep his mouth shut...he's always fanning the flames of division.

Revoke his Nobel peace prize...his administration is a farce...a Shakespearean tragedy in the making.

    Let the countdown continue...

749 days, 11 hours and 47 minutes until he leaves office

Exactly! I was surprised at his blatantly unethical comment about the professor & cops incident...... "I don't have all the facts, but....." He admitted her didn't have all the facts, then went on to criticize the cops, calling them stupid..... 'stupid' - where have I heard that word before? Oh yes! Now I remember ....

Then the Martin case and his 'If I had a son..." personalizing it and stirring up the racial pot....

Any 1st yr law student knows that a high profile person should keep their mouth shut when it comes to cases like this, particularly when there's a trial coming up so the jury pool isn't contaminated. There is a code of ethics involved, but apparently the POTUS, who also claimed he was a Constitutional lawyer, a graduate from Harvard isn't aware of this thing called 'ethics'.

Good for Obama! He needs to fly to Ferguson and run wild with the thugs when they start destroying everything in the town. I hope Obama is right out in front when the police do whatever it takes to restore order like the Missouri Governor promised Saturday. That would get rid of a lot of problems.

    Well, DOH!

    :hmm:

There was nearly a mistrial in the Manson case because Nixon opened his mouth about it. They should put off all this Ferguson crap until the Idiot in Chief is out of office. Someone, anyone, even some dumb (*)(*)(*)(*) off the street without a law degree, should tell that fool to (*)(*)(*)(*), NOW!~

So let me get this straight, you are Against Freedom of Speech. Ok we now know where one Con stands on the issue, only Freedom of Speech when you agree with what is being said, Noted.
So long as they protest peacefully they are doing nothing more than exercising their rights. I would also point out that the vast majority of protestors in Ferguson were peaceful, it was a handful of outsiders that caused the most damage there and I doubt most of then cared one iota about Brown or the Officer.

OMG, you seriously don't have a clue, do you! Not a single, vague clue about ongoing legal cases.

    Not a clue.

Do you not realize this thread is about 0bama opening his hideous, revolting mouth?

Is anyone really surprised at this? This president has set this country back decades in race relations. One would have thought he could have brought races even closer. A Condoleeza Rice could have.....a Colin Powell could have........but not Obama. He's a guy with a chip on his shoulder who is arrogant and he lied before election about bringing the nation together. He's done everything but that......from Day One.

Not a fan of Obama, but you look like a partisan demagogue.

Obama wants peaceful protests. The largest part of that mob was not from ferguson, just opportunists who wanted to steal and bust things up. If you think that is what Obama is supporting, you are not caring about truth here.

Whatever is the truth on this shooting, this nation still has a problem with our cops being too willing, and too apt to shoot and kill people. There are enough of these incidents each year, that this should prove that. We do have a problem in how the police, police the public. It has been getting worse, not better over the years.

He invites the Ferguson mob to the White House. He invites Bergdahl's parents to the White House. Yet he doesn't invite the parents of the 3 men who were beheaded by ISIS, nor does he invite SGT Tamoressi who was abused it a Mexican prison all those months. He brings in Islamic sympathizers and people who support a robber and police bashers. He is so amoral.

How did you make that stretch?

I'm against rioting and looting and interfering with the private lawful business of other citizens. I am against a President who urges people that engage in such actions to "stay the course". I am against a President who supports a fleeing violent felon over a police officer acting in the line of duty.

#Ferguson Protest Group Releases List of Targets, Including: Anheuser Busch, Boeing, Emerson Electric, Airport
    http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/201...heuser-busch-boeing-emerson-electric-airport/

(Reuters) - A crowd of a couple hundred demonstrators, angry about the fatal August shooting of an unarmed black teenager by a white police officer, took to the streets of St. Louis on Sunday, briefly blocking a major intersection in protest........"We've decided not to wait for that decision. We've decided to get started," said Rockit Ali, a 22-year-old organizer of Sunday's demonstration, who marched in a Spider-Man mask.

While Sunday's event had been planned as a nonviolent action, Ali said that violence could not be ruled out if the grand jury finds Wilson without fault.

"Rioting and looting are the tools of those without a voice. The rioting and looting, while I didn’t participate in it, was necessary. Without it we would not be standing here today," Ali said. "There is no revolution without violence."

It is about a right-winger whining that the President told the protestors to not give up with what they believe to be a just cause, must make you mad as heck, GOOD.

By the way, Mr Clueless, I believe the Officer did the right thing. The difference between us is one of us believe ALL Americans have the right to exercise their Freedom of Speech and one of us hates the President and allows his opinions to reflect that fact.
