Just about all high powered rifle ammo designed for killing deer will go through body armor.

I actually thought “armor-piercing” ammunition was always illegal, had no idea people could buy the ammo and pistol-style ARs that use the ammo

these are also known as cop killers as I believe it's illegal for average Americans to buy bullet proof vests (which is a weird thing to ban imo)

As a inborn quality sure. A speargun will naturally penetrate body armor too. So will an arrow from a bow.

 

Ive learned that many people just dont understand our gun laws, and guns themselves. As others have pointed out, "armor piercing" is really a marketing term. You get a round that is large and fast enough, its going to demolish any sort of body armor....whether specifically designed to or not.
