Kids aren't maturing as fast as they used to and it only gets worse every generation. 18 year olds at a bar don't drink responsibly, and it's to the point that 21 year olds don't either. But you can still drink when you're 18, you just can't buy.

You have to understand where that generation is coming from. Earlier generations have graduated without much debt and have been able to start thier lives. This generation has essentially been sold into indentured servitude or slavery by the government with their student loans.

You would have a point if 18 year olds were forced to join, but they join on their own free will. You can't drink at a bar, but you can most certainly sit back at home and drink as much as you want to though, legally. At least around here you can, or could. I used to always drink at my GF's house with her parents when I was a Sr. in high school and I know it was legal to do so back then. Unless things have changed since '97 then it's still the same.

 

Historically the serious intellectual Left has been very hostile to the expanding government bureaucratic structure. They felt that they had a better solution to the problem of the leviathan state than the American revolution and its Constitutional system. Alas.

Many will be very responsive to a Trump. Cruz could appeal to them too, but that would be a harder sell. Credible tough attacks on crony capitalism and credible plans to actually save and free the now utterly dependent poor would be effective across the board.

An expose on the nature of super pac funding, for instance the new anti-Trump super pacs, could be instructive and helpful.

if cops bust a party a 19 year old is drinking at, they will be charged with underage drinking.. the young learn cops are mainly there to stop you from having a good time at a young age
