There is no evidence that no so such statements exist. None. Can you give me any evidence whatsoever, that you didn't say this? I'm just looking for some evidence. Otherwise, you're just guessing.

Will you admit this, that you don't KNOW if you said this or not?

Offer some if you want more.

I am saying that a "creator god" is one possible god. Others are possible.

That is so amateurish that you should be ashamed of yourself.

In any case, if you need to think of it as a guess to feel better about yourself...consider it a guess.

    I often make guesses.

I am saying I did not say it...here in this thread; in any other thread here in PF; in any other thread in any of the several fora where I participate. I am also saying I have said it in any other setting during the last 4 - 5 decades. And I am also saying I have never said anything that a reasonable, ethical person could misconstrue to be me saying it.

And now I will add...that at no point am I suggesting that you are a reasonable, ethical person...so that there is no misunderstanding what I said in that last paragraph.

By the way...obviously I could make a mistake...and leave a negative out of a comment which would change the comment I am making. But any reasonable, ethical person would recognize the mistake for the mistake it is...and correct it mentally during the discussion.

I did that in my last response. I wrote:

"I am saying I did not say it...here in this thread; in any other thread here in PF; in any other thread in any of the several fora where I participate. I am also saying I have said it in any other setting during the last 4 - 5 decades. And I am also saying I have never said anything that a reasonable, ethical person could misconstrue to be me saying it."

What I intended to say was:

"I am saying I did not say it...here in this thread; in any other thread here in PF; in any other thread in any of the several fora where I participate. I am also saying I have NEVER said it in any other setting during the last 4 - 5 decades. And I am also saying I have never said anything that a reasonable, ethical person could misconstrue to be me saying it."

I inadvertently left the word "NEVER" out of the second sentence...which any reasonable, ethical person would easily see...and take into consideration.

Once again, I am not suggesting that you are reasonable or ethical, Adorno. So if you were unable to do that...I understand.

There are at least 2000 gods over ths corse of human history. God is only limited by the human i agination.

Yes like the two or three thousand imaginary gods that man has created over his history. Personally I worship the Easter Bunny because that god actually provides benefits in terms of chocolate.

And there you have it. You just responded to your own argument, Frank. You defeated your own position.

Okay, here you go: post #1022

An apology is in order perhaps?

Worship whomever or whatever you want.

A god may exist...and no need to do any worship may exist at the same time.

Are you just kidding...or are you unable to read what is written? Do you understand the question you actually asked...and the answer I gave to the question you actually asked?

You asked, "Would you say that a universe can come from nothing or at least from eternally existing relativistic quantum fields?"

I MOST ASSUREDLY WOULD NOT SAY THAT...BECAUSE I AM NOT THE PRETENTIOUS INDIVIDUAL YOU ARE.

I do not even know what "eternally existing relativistic quantum fields"...are.

There is absolutely NO WAY I would EVER have uttered or written that sentence.

My answer..."NO"...was correct and truthful TO THE QUESTION ACTUALLY ASKED...AND MOST ASSUREDLY DID NOT REJECT anything other than the pretentiousness you were displaying.

YES...and apology is in order...FROM YOU.

I doubt I will get it...and it really no longer matters. I will, however, acknowledge a possible mistake I have made. Early on in our discussion I mistakenly supposed you were above the level of some of these others here in intelligence and ethics.

    Apparently I was wrong.

That is true. I do have a good imagination to go with a superior intellect. Thanks for the compliment.

Since you are unable to provide any descriptors of what you consider to constitute a god your position is technically correct although meaningless.

There is nothing meaningless in what I say or write.

But...if it makes you feel better about yourself to consider what I say to be meaningless...please do so.

Frankly, Jester, your opinion of what I say or write...I consider to be that of a jester.

That's like asking to prove whether or not the easter bunny and the tooth fairy does exist. Can you prove that a tooth fairy doesn't exist?

My goodness, I have never seen anyone backtrack so completely.

    1. How do you define god?
    2. The creator
    1. What does that mean? You understand the implications of that definition then?
    2. Yeah, but, that definition that I have stood by for months isn't the only one.

Incredible that this person pretends to be so damned superior.

    So...

Umm...you're not even debating me, you're debating yourself. And apparently trying to square circles.

    Yeah...you are playing a game.

You asked if I would say something...and I said I would not. The thing you asked if I would say was a pretentious piece of nonsense...and I do not engage in pretentious pieces of nonsense. So I truthfully answered that I would not say it.

Now you are trying to pretend my response to your question means something other than my response...that my response was a rejection of a possible explanation for the REALITY of existence.

I have never rejected any possible explanation for the true nature of the REALITY of existence, Adorno.

But, no problem. I understand why you are playing your game. People like you simply cannot acknowledge being wrong.

    You deserve our pity.

    You've got mine.

    Your response:

    I pointed out the exchange:

    Adorno said:
Would you say that a universe can come from nothing or at least from eternally existing relativistic quantum fields?

You said: No, I would not.

So what of the following statement again?
Umm....

    Umm....
I WOULD NOT SAY THAT...which is what I said. I definitely would not say that. It is a very pretentious sentence...the kind of sentence only a pretentious person would say or write.

I told you what I would say instead.

Now...you want to distort my truthful answer into a denial that "the universe could come from all sorts of different things...fine. I can laugh at you with the best of people.

But it is not going to work, Adorno.

Oh, you might learn how to ask a question of that sort.

I suspect the question you actually wanted to ask was a variation on:

"Do you deny that the universe can come from nothing or at least from "eternally existing relativistic quantum fields" (whatever the hell that is)?

    I do not deny that.

It is entirely possible that this thing we humans call "the universe" came from all sorts of things.

That is, after all, why I use the word "IF" at the beginning of my comment, "IF this things we humans call "the universe" is a creation..."

IT MAY NOT BE A CREATION.

    I HAVE ACKNOWLEDGE THAT.

But...it appears you will continue to go this deception route.

Hey...no problem. I thought I was going to get some intelligent conversation...instead I am getting amusement.

    I like being amused.

This is actually making me laugh reading this. I thought that said person could not get any more obtuse and evasive but they appear not to have reached the nadir yet. I feel assured that said person perceives that they are coming across as smart when they are just being an ass. Too funny, keep poking mate.
