You're right. It did not make enough of a headline for me to even know it happened. I I pay attention. Sad.

 

It didn't fit the left's template on who the victims are in society, so they didn't validate it. Blacks are the victims, whites are the oppressors, so the media will report on crimes where blacks are attacked by whites. When the opposite occurs (90% of the attacks between whites and blacks involve a black perpetrator and white victim), they either ignore the story or downplay the racial aspect of it. They do not want the public to question their ideological narrative.

 

Probably trying to figure how they can work it into that nice DHS race war site.

The Trayvon Martin killing was a news item, there was interest, it was in the news for a while, it was a man bites dog story.
An armed man follows an unarmed child and kills him, and the police don't even arrest him.
If the police released the three kids who killed this guy, it would be all over the news.

 

Maybe it wasn't widely reported because it was a crime precipitated over drugs by addicts meeting at a crack house?

Is that REALLY the example of "white victimhood" you want to put up against a high school student murdered while walking home from a convenience store in his OWN neighborhood?

And if you could point out where the police IMMEDIATELY declared Tillery's murders INNOCENT and released them ALL the VERY SAME NIGHT, you might have a case for your absurd comparisons.

He stepped into it, more than once now, talking about local events that he shouldn't have, so there is reasonable expectation that he should indeed comment on this case...

I can see why Aussies favor gun control and all, fear of regression to your criminal origins and such, but really how savage must peoples be that they and their governments feel that banning simple tools is really in the public's best interest lest they slaughter each other...

When can we expect Obama to come out and call for the DOJ to further investigate the Belton situation..........and say I had a Grand Father and he WAS like Delbert Belton. (Obama's Grand Father served in WWII like Belton).

 

That is not what juries what juries do. Sorry, finding someone not guilty doesn't mean there shouldn't have been an investigation.

 

Obama spoke out about the white cops acting stupidly, he spoke out in support of OWS, he spoke out in support of radicals occupying the WI State House, he's supported illegals and he spoke out in the Trayvon incident. He's spoken out against states trying to enforce the law, against business owners, against news organizations, against congress, against republican's, against gun owners, against "bitter clingers" and apologized for the US on more than one occasion.
So, chances of him weighing in on OK......slim to none unless he can reverse the table and declare the shooters victims.

Non-Australians radically overestimate the importance we place on our origins as a penal colony. It's simply irrelevant now. It's a few hundred years later, we're many generations of fresh immigration forward, and to begin with most of our English migrants were law-abiding citizens anyway.

Our reasoning is a little less thought out. Our political spectrum is divided between the right "common-sensers", and the left "public healthists". There's no room for a position founded on liberty - we have no conception of the idea, and when we do it is without exception framed in the context of utility. Our "public healtist" run government recently implemented a price on carbon emissions and an ETS, I find the differences between the US opposition and the Australian opposition pretty telling: in the US a lot of criticism was directed towards the right of the individual to his property, in Australia a lot of criticism was levied at the increase in the cost of electricity, and a drop in employment.

This sums up the difference between our political ideologies pretty well, imo. If the ETS had led to economic prosperity then the Coalition would, in theory, be in favor of it. In principle they see nothing wrong with the ETS, gun control, or anything really, while Americans on both sides tend to frame their arguments in terms of natural liberty. Look at the positions on economics and the constitution of the right, and the positions on torture, civil rights, etc of the left.

 

Never gonna happen. It doesn't forward the template of blacks being the victims of whites. That is a political weapon that the Left loves to wield. They will never give it up.
