Other than putting holes in paper, or slaughtering innocents, what purpose can an AR15 serve?

It's the ammo not the gun that determines whether it will go through a wall or not. Most hunting grade ammo will penetrate a wall and cause injuries or death on the other side.
Why the AR15, lightweight, low recoil, easily handled by children as well as women, large capacity magazines.
Personally I prefer a handgun inside the house, my Keltec PMR30 is lightweight, low recoil and holds 30 rounds. The 22 magnum is as devastating at close range as a .223, and there are many rounds available that will not go through a wall.
But the thing that always perplexes me is that antigunners want to remove the AR15 when it is the perfect weapon for women.

For the last time. HAVE YOU FACED an ar15? I faced 20 officers, pointing everything from shotguns, to m16s at our heads. There were ten of us. The neighbor swatted us.

How you stack up tough guy?

In in the LA riots of1992 korean immigrants proved it to be an excellent obama voter adjustment tool before they were even called obama voters

What point are you trying to make here? Cops with guns or someone doing something unintelligent enough to get TWENTY cops to point their weapons at them.. I have never had anyone point a weapon at me.

Well one time :) I was hunting and I notices some hunter orange about 300 yards atop a hill so I trained my rifle scope on it to verify and it was another hunter with his rifle trained on me verifying too :)

    Sort of a itchy feeling!

Stopping the guilty from harming others (i.e. self defense). If you choose the right ammo, they are probably the best option for home defense, as they penetrate less walls than a shotgun with buckshot or a handgun. (don't get me wrong, they still penetrate walls, but all guns do. An AR with frangible bullets loaded, tends to go through about 3 walls. A 12-gauge shotgun 4-5 walls, and a typical 9mm handgun the same as the 12-gauge).

They are just about ideal to shoot FL sized deer (which tend to be fairly small--the average buck deer in FL weighs about 125 lbs (up north the average buck is over 200 lbs). They are also useful for boar hunting.

Why do you trust government so much?

Why do you want government to take care of you from cradle to grave?

Don't you think the people of North Korea would love to have the means and opportunity to overthrow their tyrannical oppressive government?

Most of us legal gun owners never did anything to warrant a squad of police to point their guns at us. Maybe the problem is you.
