So let me get this straight: people are offended by a commercial encouraging men to stop kids from beating each other up when they see it? And for encouraging us not to creepily hit on women on the streets as if they were hookers? Encouraging people to just be decent people is offensive?

    It’s because it works.

Nike used Colin Kaepernick, their sales blew up and their stock soared because of the triggering.

Pepsi teamed up with the NFL, and their sales went up because people were triggered over the NFLs logo on the bottle.

Now P&G is following suit, because it’s a effective sales strategy. The people who aren’t triggered by ads like this outnumber those who are. Gillette is already a household brand and name and will see favorable results thanks to this ad.

Be on the lookout for more companies to do this with the Super Bowl being around the corner.

I watched it. Your take on it is a spin of degeneration of the message. There's nothing wrong with the ad. So your objection is "suspicious."

W O W !!! That is what modern monopoly looks like and that is how it is disguised to conceal it from the public. And it is not uncommon.

Grammar has no spin. Either you understand it or you don't.

See you don't have it straight which is no surprise. People are offended that anyone would be stupid enough to pretend sexism and bullying are male traits and not asexual in nature.

True, but being Wiki, it's probably not comprehensive. Yes, monopoly laws changes somewhere along the line, or were not taken seriously. Communist or capitalist, it should scare the hell out of everyone.

The one from Gillette. Which one did you watch or are you just stalling because you have no argument?

Interesting, that's what I watched too. Just checking to make sure you watched the same one, because I don't recall the ad saying bullying is a male trait. Care to share the portion where that was expressed?

Wasn't it implied that bullying is a white male trait and it takes someone of color to know what's right and what's wrong?

Despite the arrogance of your insulting language to @FlamingLib , what you're saying is that the term "male hair loss" is a "fake phrase" since hair loss is not specific to one sex.

What you're saying without realizing it is that "toxic masculinity" is not the same as "bullying and sexism". They cannot be equated. And since that is true, your claim of a "fake phrase" is poorly thought-out BS. You may as well have said "the phrase toxic masculinity which they used is a FAKE phrase since walking and running are NOT specific to one sex."

They never claimed that bullying and sexism are only male traits. You added plenty to what they said to make it appear wrong, but it's all yours.

Did you see the white men in the video? Instead of using white men, plug in any other race, gender, religion (Islam), immigration status, etc, and watch the sparks fly. I'm not say any of that would boil your blood, but it certainly will for others.

You would think that in today's hyper sensitive society the media companies would think about what would the reaction be if they substituted X or Y, but they don't. Insulting white men, especially conservative christian white men, is about the safest thing to do these days.

So you're sensitive to issues of "whiteness"?

No because Male Hair Loss is not describing the attributes of the noun male. <Rule 3>

<Mod Edit> I'm saying bullying and sexism are not attributes of masculinity since they can be applied to both sexes not one. <Mod Edit>

no they didn't. They were merely highlighting "the best a man can be" in terms of male attitudes.

Perhaps you have no idea what messaging (content) specifically aimed at a company's target audience is.

There's nothing about telling boys to stand up to bullies that is standing up to sexism. It's not complicated.

I submit that the advert is deliberately racist. If you can't see that, then you should perhaps take some time for reflection.

Racism is not solved by racism.

As I have never claimed that & neither did the ad then I don't need to 'justify' anything.

What you just can't bring yourself to face is that violence and sexual assault are largely, and in the case of violence overwhelmingly male issues. Men commit 90% of murders, over 90% of rapes and 80% of violent crimes. That is the issue being addressed here. I get that you & the male victimhood brigade can't understand or accept that because you are too busy mapping the dimensions of your own oppression. No one expects you to even acknowledge that behaviours that are overwhelmingly male are negative, because that would mean your victimhood routine would collapse. Easier to scream 'not all men' and wail about what a victim you are.

The grownups are taking responsibility. You & the rest of the victim's club can just kick and scream about how hard done by you are.
