But then that child may not get to heaven, as God wanted that child at this time. You are interfering with God's choices.

The only hypocrisy is they want choice in one case and not the other. Seems you be in same camp?

    - - - Updated - - -

Why wouldn't they have the same faith. The goal of this life is to get to heaven. The sooner we make that journey, the less bad things we can do to go the other direction.

It is still about freedom and the right to live the choice of that freedom. Don't be hypocrites.
If one allows their kids to swing high on a park swing set and the kid falls off and dies, you going to charge the parent with manslaughter as well?

you fools on both sides of the equation crack me up. you will never get it. If you don't believe a fetus is a human, then you don't agree that abortion is murder. On the other hand, if you think that a fetus IS a human than you will NEVER agree that is a personal choice issue.

The ONLY solution to this EVER is to set a hard and fast date to what constitutes the beginning of human life, and any actions taken after that point would be murder, no questions.

As for your stupid remark about the swing set, that would be a horrible tragedy, but unless the parent took some action or failed to take some other action it would be just that, an accident.

Just like if you're 9 months pregnant and accidentally trip and fall down the stairs killing your unborn child you aren't charged with murder, DUH!

. Of course you are wrong. A petty statement that had no truth in reality.

    >>>MOD EDIT: INSULTING A GROUP<<< Anyone who thinks Jesus is a replacement for a licensed MD or DO is insane and should not be allowed to care for children. DFACS should require parents to sign papers agreeing to use proper medical care for children before they are allowed in schools. That would weed out some of the loonies.

Every time someone quotes a bible as a factual reference I think it sets back the human species by a thousand years. Only atheists and deists should be allowed to have children. Fideists should be neutered so these things cannot happen.

Either you are for the freedoms in our constitutions or you are not. It is the picking and choosing which should be free and within an individual rights that brings out the hypocrites.
For the record, even tho you are throwing this OT, I believe the fetus will become a human, when it actually becomes a human, legally, is the line in the sand.

The swing set is not stupid, a kid is doing something dangerous, the parent knows it is dangerous, the result could be serious injury or death.

Ehhhh, I'm not really for deciding who can & can't have kids, aside from people who would be an obvious danger to a child...

I've known many, many Christians, Muslims, Atheists, Buddhists, etc. who were great parents...

As long as someone properly cares for their child, I couldn't care less what they believe, TBH...

That is just your opinion. The constitution allows for religious freedom and you should not want to take away someones rights.

So, what relevance did your statement hold about the kids being where every Christian wants to be?

You might almost have to go case by case. Good parenting doesn't come with an instruction manual, and kids rarely exercise good judgment. Micromanaging them all their lives only teaches them to be dependent. How much supervision is enough? Hard not to exercise hindsight when anything goes wrong, and say "you SHOULD have done it different." If I had that kind of hindsight, I'd make a living winning lotteries.

In this case, the child not only didn't exercise poor judgment, he relied on his parents to exercise good judgment when he needed it. I would say in this case, the parents clearly failed, what they SHOULD have done was clear from the start, no hindsight required, and they are culpable.

But the comparison made was to abortion, which has roughly 1,200,000 a year..... so we have a comparison of 2 to 1,200,000...child after child?? just saying.

Interesting perspective. I think maybe adults should be able to make that choice ? I dont know, that is a toughy. What if the child wants the life saving treatment? Is a child able to make a rational decision? Idk it is interesting.

As Hurricane Ivan was bearing down on Pensacola, the old Irish Priest at my church was giving a homily. He said to prepare as if God did't exist, and pray as if you hadn't prepared. It shouldn't be an either/or thing. When a family member of mine is sick, I pray for God to help the doctor do everything right. Jesus told Satan not to put God to the test. Luke 4:12 12And Jesus answered and said to him, "It is said, 'YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.'"

Whatever makes you feel better about killing bruh. Child, Fetus, it, thing, blop of flesh, whatever, its alive and is human and they are killed by the millions and that is perfectly fine for lefties. One kid gets killed by a gun or a religious nut.....whoa.....call in the air force killing is not tolerated.

Can ANY of you civil libertarians contemplate individual freedom without having apoplexy?

ahhh the textbook websters argument. When someone says they are "with child" do you correct them and say its just a fleshy thing? "PROLLY".
Maybe you can define when human life starts for us?

    - - - Updated - - -

individual freedom for the parents or the fleshy thing that had his neck snipped with scissors as its legs are held while it kicks in agony?

Must be of legal age to purchase and consume(yes we know there is underage stuff going on) these are adults making a personal choice for themselves.
    See above

Again you are talking about adults and their own personal care and those are personal choices of the individual, for the individual. All of the mentioned above are irrelevant examples to the issue being discussed.

I am sure the parents had all the best intentions, the issue is that a previous child had already died in their "care". And even if it hadn't, the judge is well within his rights to hold the parents in jail, on charges of neglect at the very least all the up to and including reckless endangerment and Murder 3.
