I have wondered that. I dont know anything about the FBI. I do know there are threats made quite often that schools and local law enforcement take care of. Maybe they didnt think it was serious enough, neglectful over sight. If ignored on purpose, that would be more terrifying than the shootings.
America is the textbook case on how "more guns" is the worst possible idea. And now we will have guns around the schools and libraries. How hard is it to take a pistol away from a teacher, or steal it, and start shooting? Who needs to buy a gun, when they're already in the schools...
No offense but if you did not know he FBI got two tips perhaps you should research the topic a tad more before replying.
We don't hear about it because the LW MSM knows it reflects poorly on Democrats and their failed policies. There's no political gain to be made there so it gets shoved down the memory hole... I glad to say I'm not one of the people who got used and manipulated. That being said, it was striking how the kids parroted the Left's propaganda about the NRA. It's no wonder why they sounded like mindless LeftBots - they were reading the script their "progressive" handlers gave them.
Misapplying debate rhetoric is one way to evade facing the fact that there are more guns, including semi auto firearms, in America today than ever in America's history yet America's homicide rate is at a 51 year low. The guns are not the problem. The problem is the misuse of guns, knives, bombs, trucks etc etc. Misdirected people who don't want the expense & effort required to curtail the misuse of all weapons cheerlead for cheap & easy non-solutions like gun bans. Identifying and addressing murderous human behavior is not going to be cheap & easy.
Homicides are homicides and in America they are at a 51 year low in spite of the increase in semi-auto firearms. The glaring MSM spotlight constantly shining on exploitative Gun Ban activists who script & fund attention seeking, cheerleaders has left too many people with the misimpression that there's blood running in the streets of every city.
Of all the conspiracy theorists I know, the saddest are those who still buy into the official conspiracy theory regarding the events of 11 September. They absolutely reject the wisdom of Occam.
Wrong. America and AUS prove that more guns does not automatically increase crime, and that more gun control does not automatically reduce crime.
OpenSecrets has NRA contributions to politicians at $1.1M, lobbying total at $6.7M, and a new category called "outside spending" of $54M. "Outside spending" includes all kinds of things including simply stating your position as well as political speech. Total "outside spending" (all organizations) in the 2016 election was $1,395,599,843. That's right, $1.4 BILLION. Its a huge number because it includes every conceivable type of speech that relates to politics. The real question is how much was actually given directly to politicians? How much went into the politicians pockets? Who bought the politicians? The Democrats bought the pols.
Harris, one of the Columbine shooters, was on Zoloft (had negative thoughts of suicide and depression) then switched to Luvox (another anti-depressant).
Our murder rate is a little more than half of what it was in the 1980s/1990s, yet we have more guns than we had before. Guns, at the least, aren't causing increased murders.
If correlation equals causation then we can happily claim that the rise in mass shootings and mass shooting casualties is directly related to the rise in ownership of so called "assualt rifles"
Straw man - we are talking firearm mortality and you have attempted to shift the argument to overall crime
I've already pointed out that there are more guns in America, today, than any other time in our nations history yet the homicide is at a 51 year low. Additionally, semi-automatic firearms have been readily available since before the day of Al Capone. Regrettably, the Gun Ban Lobbies and their adherents are determined not to lower homicides but to ban the same firearms that they vehemently wanted to ban long before the debut of the well funded & carefully choreographed "Parkland Players" "FBI: US Homicide Rate at 51-Year Low" https://mises.org/wire/fbi-us-homicide-rate-51-year-low Public Unaware that Homicide Rates Have Fallen EXCERPT "As Pew has reported in recent years, in fact, the American public is "unaware" that the homicide rate in the United States has fallen by 49 percent over the past twenty years. And while Pew doesn't report on it, it's also a safe bet that the public is also unaware that homicide rates have collapsed as total gun ownership in the United States has increased significantly."CONTINUED
That is not the topic And I have already pointed out that correlation does not neccessarity equal causation What is the distribution of those guns?? How accurate is the information?? What legislative intervantions have occurred in the intervening time??
Guns are a tool, just because a firearm is not available or is more difficult to acquire does not mean the criminals intent changes. You want to deceptively limit the scope to firearms because the true scope destroys your argument. Its like limiting the scope of a discussion on alcoholism to the availability of cars.
All of this "Astroturfing" begs the question: Have any of these people developed a clinically significant case of Turf Toe? Just wondering. Considering all of this "Astroturfing".
Politicians are struggling to get off the NRA pot to which they have been super-glued, but it is edifying to see what a grassroots movement can do via the free market. The corporate realm is sensitive to public opinion. Power to the people.
When the facts refute your opinions, they suddenly become "off topic". Fine. There is more than ample proof that the "Parkland Players" are scripted, funded, & exploited by the same vulterine gun banners whose agenda has always been to ban all guns. -Gun banners tell them what questions to ask & what to say -Gun banners rent the busses for their diesel fueled "march", wind them up & tell them what to say. -Gun Banners trumpet the deaths of wealthy, white children from a Democratic area but ignore the less spectacular equally tragic deaths that don't feature scary firearms. - Gun banners ignore the fact that the authorities did not do their jobs in enforcing existing laws & following up on existing tips. Re: Those are not the topic.
