Actually, we have decided not to share our technology based on the fear that your Justin Beeber will spread beyond the planet. Our emissary and observation drone (known to you as Lady GaGa) has been in defensive offense mode for years after recognizing the threat and has instituted the MTV (Much To Volatile) protocol. It is possible the infection will be eliminated from within your societies and stability returned to your species.

I am afraid humanity has advanced exponentially in science and technology, but we are the same violent, irrational monkeys we were 50,000 years ago.

We are driven more by the base side of human nature, than by rationality and reason. Just look at who we elect to high office. Just look at how we have allowed the oligarchs to buy the gov't by and for the people, as we fight one another in our primitive tribalism.

If aliens exist, and got here, that means they were intelligent enough to rise about their primitive nature, unlike homo sapiens. But hopefully our brains will evolve to catch up with our bodies sooner or later. And logic and reason will finally trump emotion.

 

On the other hand............ isn't there at least something positive that can be said that Americans will elect a man to the office of POTUS who would have been amazed to get elected even to municipal government fifty years ago?

At the minimum he certainly is one of the most gifted speakers in the nation....... and in the world......... combine that type of talent with the invention of YouTube.com and Facebook....... and the possibility does arise of stopping Monsanto and BigPharma and other highly unethical businesses from gaining the type of control that was occurring under the leadership of the G. O. P?!

(For the record.... if I had been American I think I would have voted for McCain in 2008 and for Mitt in 2012.... but........ there is no denying the fact that Big Business is behaving in a highly unethical manner....... and they were not being slowed down at all by the G. O. P.)!

we're more 'civilised' now than ever before. human rights are being respected in ways not even imagined 200 years ago, much less 100 years ago. frankly, anyone who disputes this needs to take a ride in my time masheen ..... where you'll be transformed into a disabled black woman, widowed with 12 children, and sent to the deep south of the US in the year 1952. or, if you don't care for that particular scenario, try one of my other favourite settings .... a middle aged male of peasant stock, living in 1850's London. of course you'll have consumption from working in the coal mines up north, and a wife who's permanently exhausted, and 9 children in various states of ill health. there's little work, and you live in a one room basement flat (infested with rats) and share a 'bathroom' with 14 other families.

Humanity is self-destructive and harmful to the planet because animalism and materialism prevail over higher consciousness. We decimate the rainforests as we breed like rats. Materialists hog wealth, power, and advanced technology and use manipulative influence to shape and exploit wars for profit. Their religious counterparts produce no better track records (with the possible exceptions of Buddhism and Gnosticism), forming empires parallel to governments, replete with hierarchies and material resources.

Humanity suffers with an endless conflict between self-serving interests and altruism. Perhaps the only way to make sense of the mess is to see it as the world playpen, the human nursery, where successive lifetimes provide opportunities for cumulative learning experiences that can contribute to development of quality consciousness. Participants can strive for passing grades or stay mired in the baseness of physical reality.

This reality is rife with grossness because that is how beings must start. Virtually every germinating lifeform on this planet will thoughtlessly try to kill or damage anything that gets in the way of its growth and development. It all stems from the oneness of the Creator cleaving into dualities and diversifying so that parts can interact.

The system is guaranteed to produce despots, but it does hone adaptive individuals into successful graduates.

It’s all about birth, growth, procreation, death/recycling, and progressive evolution. Evolution seems to be accelerating. Hang on for the wild ride. Some sources say it’s being done faster here than anywhere else in this vicinity of the cosmos.

 

But….. there is reason to have hope for a better future.
