Trump didn't say that, he repeated it.

"SIOUX CENTER, Iowa -- Donald Trump says his supporters are supremely devoted to him. But would they support him if he shot someone?

"They say I have the most loyal people -- did you ever see that? -- where I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters," Trump said, illustrating his point by pulling his fingers into a gun shape. "Okay? It's like incredible."

I don't recall that Harvey Weinstein ever held a high position in the US government.... Try harder next time.

I want you to quote someone saying it. Until you do, Trump is the one who claimed it...about you.

Trump only hires winners. Like Manafort. And Gates. And Papadopoulos.

All this winning from the winners.

The subject of this thread is no more the President than it is Harvey Weinstein.

We didn't hire Ken Starr to find out that Bill Clinton crammed a panatella up an intern's cooter then came on her dress either, but that's what got Willie impeached and disbarred. All of the GOP faithful were laughing their asses off about that one and I don't blame them a bit. Now we have to see where this fishing expedition goes. Starr locked up a bunch of Willies friends for little or no reason even resorting to torturing Susan McDougal by sticking her in solitary for not telling him what he wanted to hear....Mueller has another 3-4 years to **** with Trump and all his cronies if we use Starr's actions as a guideline. This could get to be a lot of fun. Enjoy the ride...lol

Well, Tom, it looks like we're both gonna see this from two totally different angles. We'll just have to see how it plays out. I do appreciate your ability to debate without being a partisan dick and insulting all who disagree with your views, it makes the debate a lot more worthwhile and adds credibility to character.:thumbsup:

So, no, you're not as critical. That's all you had to say.

Sure it is. Quote someone saying that he could go down 5th avenue and shoot someone and get away with it.

He's been a major DNC donor for decades. He's been more involved in politics than Trump prior to 2015.

My, after looking over those charges again, I'd have to say that Muells and the boys will soon be treated to a lovely little Manafort - Gates duet...

A video of Trump repeating what he heard is all you need. He never said he could do that, he said THEY SAID he could do that. If you wanna know who "they" are then you'll have to research that. I'm posting that video only so you can stop with the lies.

    Well, thanks!

As you say. We'll see where this goes. Some commentators, whom I respect feel that the Clinton Uranium One thing deserves scrutiny. I do not, but I have no objection to people taking the facts wherever they may lead.

I first sighted evidence of Russian attempts to influence domestic American politics when I noticed that several right wingers on this forum had mysteriously started quoting Russian propoganda sites as source material. I found this very strange and remarked on it at the time. Generally, I got name calling and denial in response, followed by more quotes from RT and Sputnik.

About nine months later, the New York Times published an article in the Sunday magazine called "The Agency", which detailed the work of Russian troll farms and did a lot to explain why I was seeing these posts on this forum and from some of my right wing friends on FB.

(you should read this, and make note of the date it was written).

    https://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/07/magazine/the-agency.html

None the less, the idea that Russia would, or could sucessfully, interfere in a US presidential election seemed far fetched. It isn't as though Russian agitprop is a new thing. But it had always tended to be heavy handed and ineffective.

So, it was a double shock when Trump hired Manafort, who I had known of for years, and knew that he was hooked up with Kremlin backed gangsters in Ukraine. Why would anyone put a man with that kind of baggage in charge of his campaign?

The the hacked e-mails surfaced, along with the intelligence community's open concern about Russian meddling.

Trump, rather than calling for getting to the bottom of it, celebrated it!

Then, one he got the nomination, and he was eligible for the Presidential Daily Briefing, he studiously avoided contact with his own potential intelligence team and ignored their reports.

Then he started attacking them (without ever having talked to them).

The rest is well known, and does not bear repeating.

I would love to see Manafort, Clinton, Podesta and Trump playing Spades for Zag Nut Bars at the Federal Correctional facility in Florence Colorado next spring. I have a dream!

Who knows. I remember when Jeremiah Wright called Obama out after Obama had to denounce Wright's radical and racist comments that he'd listened to for 20 years...

"On Monday, Wright criticized the U.S. government as imperialist and stood by his suggestion that the United States invented the HIV virus as a means of genocide against minorities. "Based on this Tuskegee experiment and based on what has happened to Africans in this country, I believe our government is capable of doing anything," he said.

And perhaps even worse for Obama, Wright suggested that the church congregant secretly concurs.

If Senator Obama did not say what he said, he would never get elected," Wright said. "Politicians say what they say and do what they do based on electability, based on sound bites, based on polls."
