Yes, you heard right, Nancy Pelosi is urging Congress to protect American citizen's rights under the Constitution by imposing gun legislation to affect the 2nd amendment of the Constitution. I mean, does she even think before she talks? Then again, after her statement on the passing of the Affordable Care Act, I'm not surprised that she stated what she did.

I believe she's suffering from Botox seepage into whatever's left of her brain. She's obviously not all there.

To think that vacuous bag of hair was two bullets removed from the presidency. The thought of it makes me shudder in horror...

Trick question, which would you rather lead the country, Hillary or Nancy?

    - - - Updated - - -

All in the name of protecting American citizens constitutional rights. I don't see what the big deal is. Defend the rights under the constitution by restricting the rights under the constitution.

    Seems legit to me. </sarcasm>

She has to retain her youth. With this being a historic Congress, being that this is the most women the US has ever had serving public office (Very happy about that, by the way. I'm glad on two folds for that because A: Women are taking an active role in politics and something that I think is missing in politics, and B: It gets a new fresh ideals in there and see what new direction this country can go. All for the positive, in my opinion), she needs to keep 'face' with her public.

Once we get past the slant imposed by the editorial flavor of the Liberty Crier, we find that Pelosi doesn't want guns sold to nutcases and felons.

So let's have a show of hands here. How many support selling guns to nutcases and felons?

Now, I cherish every gun I own, which is quite a few, but I consider guns to be like cars - everyone should be able to use one, but everyone should also be able to demonstrate the competence to use one. Driving tests and licencing requirements (like glasses if necessary, etc.) don't exist to "take peoples' cars away from them." They exist to make the roads safer for those able to drive.

So anyway, guns for felons and nuts? Anyone? Or should we ignore that and focus on Liberty Crier's propaganda?

No ID for voting, No ID for buying guns, that would be a consistent way of thinking, yet the people who won't support IDs for voting seem to think invasive background checks for exercising one's 2nd Amendment rights somehow makes sense. Its hard to take hypocrites seriously...

Banning "assault weapons" will keep guns out of the hands of nutcases and felons, right? Maybe if we ban all guns that will keep them out of the hands of nutcases and felons too?

    Hillary, Hillary, Hillary.

Hell I would vote a third fourth and fifth term for her just to keep Pelosi away.

During the dem primary in 08 I remember thinking I didn't care who would win between Hillary and McCain because they were basically identical.

Never thought the country would go so far left. Fear does crazy things to people I suppose.

It's hard to take people who won't read and think seriously. Everyone supports voter ID. Everyone. What's being opposed is the requirement for even MORE ID. And I think everyone supports not selling guns to nuts. I notice you evaded this question.

But according to the OP, Pelosi wants to expand background checks. I personally think background checks are a good idea. I also think that the "assault weapon" category is artificial, arbitrary, and easily abused. It shouldn't exist.

So do you oppose background checks?

Oh really, everyone supports voter ID? When did that happen? Who exactly is a nut? Who is going to determine who is or isn't a nut? Will they have the authority to track every gun owner to make sure they don't become a nut? We have already seen more than one nut that's passed a background check, so tell me exactly how that's going to work...

Would the point of this thread & article matter if it came from Huffington Post, Mother Jones, Salon, Fox News, The Blaze, CNN, ABC, MSNBC, Reason, and the vast majority of other widely known media outlets? I think not. That's because Pelosi continues to talk out of her rear end because that's where her brain is at as well. I guess this is just another case of needing to pass a gun ban law so we can see what's in, without all of the chaos surrounding it, right?

No, the point of this is the hypocrisy within her words. Let's defend American's 2nd amendment right by imposing restrictions upon that right. How many times do folks wish to legislate something and it never goes the way they want it? Let's tax the rich, yeah, it always falls on the poor & middle income families because they'll just move their money off shores. Sure, close loop holes and make them pay more, but then jobs will continue to flow overseas and this country will continue to tank. Let's ban assault weapons, yeah, only law abiding citizens will be effected by it. The criminals will still find ways to get guns, our own government is personally hand delivering them to the drug cartels. Then, on the flip side, want to ban weapons from law abiding citizens? What a joke.

Social issues can't be fixed by legislation. If you think you can, you've already failed.

Everyone supports voter ID? Where did you find that statistic at? Here, I can assure you that whatever article you find, to state your case, it's wrong because I, for one, don't support it. Thus, I don't fall into your collective assessment.

Maybe you support it, I don't. This country doesn't an ID for everything that we do. Good lord, I want my freedom & privacy over this garbage. Unless I've done a crime, you don't need to know what I'm doing, simple as that. If you think that's because it's a criminals mentality, then that's the logical reasoning on why this country is in the dismal state that it's currently in.

So you think anyone should be able to simply walk up to any polling place and vote? No ID required, no registration required, no check to see if you already voted required, no check to see if you voted elsewhere required? Seriously?

OK, so you feel anyone can vote, citizen or not, as often as they like. Got it.

No, I believe only citizens should be able to vote, and I think they should only be able to vote once. And THAT means registration and proof of ID. Always has.

Do you even realize that it's pointless to even vote anyway? Have you even seen reports about folks assessing the source code to the voting machines to validate that the code works as expected? Did you hear about how around 900 folks that were presumed dead voted?

ID's don't matter because fraud will exist, not to mention that the voting machines have already been talked about, by a developer who helped work on the code, to be able to flip a switch to allow the person they want into office to win? Or do you assume that's just some CT stuff?

If not, here's the video of that developer testifying:
