The concern is the loosening of military standards to accommodate religious headgear and beards commonly worn by Muslims.

So will Muslim soldiers be allowed to stop whatever they are doing to pray 5 times a day?

Unless in a true combat situation at the time. Yes.. I have talked to Muslims in Afghanistan etc etc about what if you are working during normal prayer times etc. They said as long as you get 5 in everyday you are fine, even if you have to do 3-4 back to back. So if there is combat going on, or if they are going on patrol they can do all 5 at once. Not even sure if the 5 prayer thing is actually a requirement, or interpretation. I haven't read the Quran, kuran Qu'ran

I thought they all stopped doing whatever is they were doing at certain times of the day and prayed. Sounds more superstitious and fear of breaking your mother's back if you don't do it 5 times.
