Any fighter jet with just one engine is crap. Its that simple. In a dog fight, the F-35 loses. Even against MiG from the 80th.

We already started the development of our own next gen fighter jet. Until its ready we need something replacing our old Tornados.

partial correction: nuclear fusion weapons have no upper limit and can be upscaled indefinitely.

nuclear fission weapons are limited to a maximum yield of probably about one megaton (the largest ever built IIRC was about half that).

What is your obsession with the F-35 having only one engine? Lots of aircraft with highly successful histories have had only a single engine. The F-16, AV-8B Harrier, A-7, to name just three modern combat aircraft off the top of my head.

I definitely have a far better understanding of the size and emptiness of this country than you and I would say 99% of its people.

Glad you agree though, that Germany should not buy weapon systems from a country with a president who makes constant threats against us

And we shouldn't sell military hardware to countries that don't give a crap about anyone but themselves

Not to mention that Tsar Bomba was never actually refined into a usable weapon. No doubt it could've been in time. But it never actually was.[/QUOTE]

I said nothing about that subject. Though I am wondering why so many of you foreign and domestic take almost every utterance of President Trump seriously. Did you take President Reagan seriously when during the midst of the Cold War said over an open mic that he had "signed legislation banning Russia, we start bombing in 5 minutes"?

The U.S. military cares a great deal about other nations. We need them to provide bases and supplement our own forces.

Indeed, that was an important moment in American history--and a most regrettable one.

But when, exactly, did al Qaeda become a nation-state (which would, then, trigger the principle just stated)?

Yes, that is probably a part of it; just how large of a part, I am unsure.

But I really think that a nation ruled by an authoritarian--and one which regularly cozies up to Russia--should be removed from NATO, and treated as the adversary that it really is.

being a democracy has never been a requirement for NATO membership. And Russia is not an adversary. So why would a nation "cozying up to them" be considered an "adversary".

Despite Erdogan's playing up to the Russians, no one has any doubts that if NATO and Russia actually came to blows that Turkey would support the rest of NATO.

If Russia and NATO start real fight, controlling Bosporus is extremely important.
I’m glad Trump stopped sanctions within days - things were getting crazy.

Al Qaeda isn't about gaining territory and holding it.
Al Qaeda is in the terrorism business.
I would say Al Qaeda are Islamist jihadist anarchist.

Now ISIS (Islamic State Iraq Syria) is all about taking ground and holding it. Creating a sovereign Islamist state that collects taxes. A sovereign nation.

We all heard President Trump saying we have defeated ISIS..
That's true somewhat, ISIS no longer has a state.
But there are thousands of ISIS soldiers still out there.
And who knows how many ISIS terrorist ?

This is where ISIS ****ed up bigley when they adopted terrorism and conducted terrorist attacks in Europe and America (San Bernardino)

ISIS never thought that Donald Trump would become President and would remove Obama's PC rules of engagement that favored ISIS. Trump allowed the military commanders in the field to decide what the ROE would be and the ROE were to kill ISIS be for ISIS killed you.

Trump pushs out constant threats against my country. He went so far to say he want send terrorists to Berlin.

He send an absolute moron as ambassador to Germany who in his first day at office acted like a wannabe colonial pocket dictator. Publishing orders to the german government, german companies and so on. He was isolated from day one and now gets paid by your tax payers for sitting in Berlin, islolated from any contact with german decission makers. He uses his time to make twitter posts about his dog.

You have a president who tries to actively disturb german democracy by trying to stop a GERMAN energy project. Nordstream II pipeline. He was unable to stop it, because USA lacked the influence to achieve so.

Now figure the scenario...lets say Germany orders those 100 F-35 and strike that deal. Once the deal is done Trump later on orders to deactivate the fleet until Germany signs contracts to buy american LNG.

I have no doubt people like you would even applaud that.

I don't know about your system, but in our system WE THE PEOPLE have a duty to keep these folks in line and ensure that we remain mindful that they work for us, not the other way around, and we are failing miserably in that key task. We have high hopes that we will make progress on this through Trump/Barr/Durham, but, we have thought in the past that we were making effective strides only to learn later that they too were selling us out.

I wish you folks the best in the task of holding your government accountable to the people.

Remember when those Russian mercenaries got annihilated in Syria? Couple hundred of them got clobbered, and it was probably only two F-35's that did it.

    Imagine 50 of them.
