Russia and Prussia were fighting pretty regularly from like 17-18th century.
Prussia is the region of northeastern Germany. I think the history is the reason why Stalin took Kaliningrad - it used to be Prussia.
Interestingly enough, with Sobos nationalism, he is not looking at taking it back. Kaliningrad Oblast, Russian exclave, used to be Prussia, Germany.

I've read from more than once source that many Europeans have no concept of just how large the continental United States is. I remember a story about a couple of European tourists visiting New York City. They decided to rent a car...and drive to see the Grand Canyon. They were stunned that instead of a few hours it would take them a few days to get there. At least.

Not many Europeans understand that the U.S. is larger than Australia in raw size.

 

I think Stalin is the only person in human history who managed to move entire country - he moved Poland westward and annexed western Ukraine to Ukraine. So, huge chunks of today’s Poland that were never Poland are part of that country now. All done at the expense of Germany.
