Has anyone really ever tried to take an honest perspective of the side of the situation from the "enemies" view? Whenever something comes up, I think most of us tend to dig into it with a "guilty until proven innocent" point of view". When you try someone in court, the whole reasoning of the court is to provide context to the situation at hand. For instance...with the case of Syria...how much do we know of Syria that has not been told to us by a media seemingly bent on the concept of imperative intervention? Who, honestly, has been looking into Syrian politics and history? Those who even attempt a little back-story stop at th first damning evidence they see and call it complete. This is like me looking through your life for the first stupid or criminal thing you did and judging you by it- or, indeed, the US, who is no stranger to WMD's of every sort. Has anyone considered we might be wrong? Again? That there may be a reason behind the events that took place in Syria (if, indeed, they have) that might either vindicate Syria and/or incriminate us along with Syria? Safe to say...the pubic is not allowed to view the totality of the information, or is even aware of the totality of the situation involving Syria. But this, generally, goes for all our enemies. Even Nazi Germany- when you discovered the conditions it was set in before both of it's wars- had considerably non-crazy reasons for doing what it was doing.
Yes, I always make an attempt of getting into the heads of the other side. It isn’t always a popular thing to do. You may be accused of being called a sympathizer or an apologist. Hell, I can even understand where al Qaeda is coming from. It doesn’t mean I agree with them, but I can at least grasp where they are coming from.
If U.S didn't create or in effect cause people to become their enemies they wouldn't have the military industrial complex. They would not have that influence. The world isn't black and white. The world just reacts the best way it can when the United States rolls over in bed.
It's a hard thing to do. You can't really seem to do it, as you don't live in their culture. You don't see their news first to make your opinions on. My guess they see it as unjust. No proof that Syria used Chemical weapons, if anything, it's the rebels who are doing it. Syria has tried hard to prove to the world they're a good country, but there's nothing to stop the US and the west from attacking, which is equal to a declaration of war.
I don't have enemies. Most other people are simply less knowledgeable regarding politics because they don't have time to read history.
