Entirely different discussion - I was responding to the comment about 'nature', not our social structure and the raising of children. I used to believe, as you do, that it is optimal to have a father and a mother raising a child (as opposed to one, or two of the same sex). And I would maintain that stance if we could be assured of GOOD parenting by both. Unfortunately, we can't make those kinds of guarantees. Not today. Just because a father (or mother) is present doesn't make them a better choice than a same sex couple.
I am not interested in where a politician puts their reproduction organs. I want to know what they are going to do to advance this country. My religious beliefs on his personal life are irreverent to what he wants to do.
His web sight sucks. He does not even have a platform listed on it. Not encouraging, as a voter we should not have to search through multiple third party sights just to fins out where he stands on the important issues of the day. He should be telling us himself.
I heard something to the effect today that he was saying he wants to have "conversations" to figure out what he thinks. Can we ban the whole "I am running because I think we need to have conversations" thingy?
Have you heard him speak or be interviewed? He seems like a very intelligent and reasonable person. I do not think your assertions are based on reality.
I would not be surprised if he won the nomination (after Trump won, anything is possible) however it is a bit of a longshot at this point. That said, I think he has a good shot at the VP nomination. A debate between him and Pence would no doubt be seen as a good scenario to a political strategist from the Democratic Party.

Imo, the bigoted comments by those on the "not right" show why Mayor Pete might be electable. And why his taking on Pence may be politically astute. If the election is about the economy or illegal immigration, Trump wins with possibly even a maj of voters. But if Mayor Pete's sexuality, and even more so lifestyle, is an issue because of Trump supporters' bigotry … it highlights Trump's loathsomeness on civility.

I'd agree that Mayor Pete would have to counter Trump on actual issues of foreign policy and economics. But he's pretty much a perfect foil for Trump on personal ethics and the mockery Christian Fundies make of Christianity and all morals.
