The (unfair) trial has been adjourned until 17th March 2016.

Meanwhile, can I ask people to tweet a new picture of mine for my political defence campaign, this one, please?

Oh we have 'freedom of speech' alright; it's just that we have to make sure we don't criticise the useless bozos who presume to govern us nor expose them as being bozos. I mean, need I say more than 'Julian Assange'?

I suggest that you plead guilty by diminished responsibility.

That's an unhelpful and insulting suggestion. Don't demean yourself by such trolling comments.

I am a very socially responsible citizen, doing my duty to the people in politics as I see it, which is to support republicanism and to oppose monarchy.

I'm a scientist and this picture shows my educational qualifications.

So there is nothing "diminished" about me.

Unfair trial tomorrow, 17th March, Aberdeen Sheriff Court.

The suggested tweet texts above are too similar to each other, so here are a new 4 all different and all 4 short enough to allow for the above gif image to be uploaded with them. Please tweet them for me. Thanks.

Note in all these tweet texts, I have had to edit in a spurious space after "http://" to stop the forum software from interpreting the URL and replacing it by the name of my blog, when what is needed is the URL. Please take the time to remove the spurious space so that the URL is clickable in your tweet. Also change the date from Mar 16 to whatever today's date is when you tweet them. Thanks again!

Those are my suggestions but if anyone tweets something with my name and a link to my blog, I will be grateful.

By the way, Twitter is great website and I don't fault them in any way - this is a court case that is straight out of the UK's royalist, fascist police state playbook and we need sites like Twitter to fight back for republican freedom!

Its probably the best defence that you can use.
I don't demean myself nor troll
I think that you have a very skewed idea as to what social responsibilities are.
Does that have any influence on either my comments or the tribunal?
What an absurd thing to say.
I have seen your website, your posts and even some your videos and I do think that there is something wrong with you.

Well nonetheless I hope that the trial comes up with a fair and reasonable verdict.

Whether it's a fair and reasonable trial will depend on the prosecutor and judge, they can often lead a jury anyway they want to.
Fair trials also depend on the detectives and witnesses, although I think those are not at issue here.

I can guarantee you one thing though, if the prosecutor really wanted to there is a good chance they could get you convicted through unethical proprietorial conduct and never face any personal repercussions. Judges don't have a lot of time to devote to each case, so they pretty much just let themselves be swayed by the statements of the prosecutor, and will not be held responsible if the prosecutor reasonably led them to believe the defendant was guilty, which is an easy thing for the prosecutor to do. Don't expect the judge to be under any obligation to scrutinize the prosecutor's evidence and logic. Judges can issue arrest warrants without taking any personal responsibility, that's how the court system works in actual practice.

Of course its not at issue. The evidence is clear andlthough he can call for a trial by jury if he wishes but that would be pointless.

I think that its a little different in the UK.

    'Freedom fighter' threatened Queen

I've been found "guilty" in Aberdeen Sheriff Court. :frown:

I've quoted in full the 2 local newspaper reports and the story on the BBC news website on my blog.

    Selective quotes from those reports
"Dow had denied the allegations against him and claimed the wording of his messages had been “blown out of proportion”.

He said that although he admitted composing the posts they should not have been taken literally, but instead seen as a piece of “rhetoric” reflecting his political views.

Dow, who represented himself, told the court he had not meant the messages to be taken literally.

He said any reasonable person should have known he did not have an army at his disposal.

He said: “Where did the police expect me to be hiding this army? In my cupboard or in my garden perhaps?”

The court heard he was opposed to the monarch being head of state and that he believed the country should be ruled by an elected body.

He said when he was talking about the Queen in his tweets he was speaking metaphorically about the demise of the monarchy in general.

Dow claimed he may have used “colourful” language while engaging in political debate but denied he intended to cause anyone fear or alarm.

He said: “The tweets were rhetoric, not threats. There was no way that tweet was threatening to the Queen.

“I do not want people to think I am a nutter who is going to attack the Queen. I’m not a terrorist, I am a political activist. It was not a threat.”
