How is that a serious question? Why should Trump offer the UK anything? What does the UK want from Donald Trump? What do you want from any foreign political leader?

I know of no other nation which is seriously asking that question. In fact, if you were familiar with what Trump has been saying, he is putting 'America First'. If the UK gets some leftovers, good for them.

I sat and watched with increasing dismay last night's tv news showing the thousands of protesters in Whitehall, yelling their hatred (well as I've said many times before - dumb people like making noise, and the dumber they are the more they make  - and waving their stupid effing banners; I didn't realise we had so many 'empty vessels' in the United Kingdom. They made me feel ashamed to be English, especially when they were protesting over something our own leaders should have done years ago and should still be doing, and that's to find out 'what the hell is going on'? 'Those whom the gods wish to destroy . . . ' - and the self-loathers and enemies within are helping?

A majority of the American Electorate don't like Trump either so yes, he is a "really big mistake" and he proves it on a daily basis!

I wish we had someone who wants to 'make Britain great again'! The losers we have at the moment sure won't, they just go with the flow of the moronic vox pop. To hear Boris Johnson 'playing to the gallery' with his right-on staccato utterings in the House yesterday was embarrassing in the extreme. Thank you Michael Gove otherwise the clown would be our PM today. That's all we need!!

NATO has ensured that there has been no more world wars for the past 70 years.

If Trump destroys NATO what are the odds of WW3 starting?

Pure EU propaganda; it has nothing whatsoever to do with NATO, it's all to do with the populaces being wealthy: remove that wealth and the associated complacency - as will happen when the Euro crashes - and you'll find out what I mean. There are nasty thing on the horizon for Europe, I'm afraid, and May is taking us out just in time.

Have you seen what Trump has done in the past week or so since he started squatting in the White House? (And yes, he has commented that the accommodations are below the faux gold plated taps they he is accustomed to.)

Banning Muslims from entering the US has already caused major disruptions at all international airports. The impacts are already being felt by corporations and universities. The tourism industry will take a hit during the summer since no one is going to want to travel to the US if they run the risk of being caught up in either protests or delays caused by customs and immigration. On top of that the military is concerned about it making it more difficult to recruit allies while ISIS is using it as a recruiting tool. Senior Republicans are openly saying that it is making America less safe.

And all of that was from just a single EO.

NATO predates the EU and will continue to exist even after brexit...assuming that Trump doesn't do something utterly stupid in the meantime.

Actually, Theresa May is his Prime Minister. He doesn't have to recognize any other power in the world, but the PM of England. While I'd like it if our POTUS were respected, I can see why he's repulsed by many in the world.

Yes I should Clarify that. I forgot I typed it.

This Topic became a ugly mess. From one chatter in his/her passions of a petition. To Americans feeling hurt, defending President Trump who blindly attacked everyone in the United Kingdom with slurs and insults.

So I fired back a few warning shots. Not big, not clever I know. But maybe next time they can debate the OP. Not blame the UK as a whole. As for "Great Again" you are smarter to be seduced by simplistic propaganda. If not, you can make my chat "Great Again". :clapping:

The only 'utterly stupid' thing he's doing at the moment is insisting that the member countries pay their dues - don't you think that's fair? It just shows what a lot of freeloaders they are that they need to be reminded. Anyway NATO is dysfunctional, as is the EU.

I have to thank Europe for reawakening to its spiritual European roots, and even more amazingly that the European politics are starting to seep in very slowly into America. While the hissy fits exist for now, in 10-15 years there will be an entirely new politics, and it will stun them how they acted in the past as opposed to the present.

So thank you Europe(those of you fighting for a true Europe). You've always lit the beacon of civilization.

Trump is flushing America down the grate and that is already causing concerns amongst the powers-that-be on the right. When the Koch brothers mobilize to stop one of Trump's major campaign themes you just know that there is something seriously wrong.

Spending money on the military is like giving money to a room full of drunks. It will just be pissed away and all you will have to show for it is a lot of damage to people and property.

So in that respect NATO is dysfunctional but the above applies to all nations equally irrespective of whether or not they belong to NATO.

The US economy boomed when the Cold War ended because suddenly billions of dollars wasted on "defense spending" was freed up and invested in jobs and new start up corporations.

The nations that you are calling "freeloaders" are actually being smart with their taxpayer funds IMO. I wish I could say the same for my own US taxes.

I agree with a lot of that, but I don't see the defaulters as 'smart', I see them as exploitative charlatans.

I'm British, he's your president not mine, and I'm thousands of blissful miles away from him across an ocean.
