The BLM seems to have been more than patient letting that desperado ring up a $1,000,000 tab.

If my family has been grazing cattle for 75 years on Bob's land, and Bob sells the land to you, you don't want cattle grazing on your land and you tell me to stop, does that mean I can continue to graze my cattle on your land? How mad would you be if not only did I not stop, but I stopped paying for 20 years.

I mean, it's not rocket science.

You're oversimplifying. This isn't a dispute between private parties, this is a dispute between people and their government which is supposed to be acting in their best interest. Apparently you don't see a difference between government owning 80% of Nevada and "Bob" who owns 200 acres.

Nah, I think it is dead on. Interesting, you don't believe in wealth inequality, but you believe in land inequality.

Hells bells. You have no idea what I believe on either issue, and I would explain it to you if I didn't think it would be an excruciating waste of time.

It's an interesting state's rights question though far from an unsettled one. The federal government claimed ownership of the territory in Nevada before Nevada became a state and the state government in Nevada never regained/obtained ownership of its own lands. Legally it all makes sense if you follow the paper, but ethically it's patently ridiculous that Nevada doesn't own its own territory just because it's not situated on the east coast (was not one of the original British colonies).
