There's more to this story and the headline is confusing. It was the cop's wife and children who were looking on, and it was the cop (Walker) that may have been threatened. If someone in a road rage incident is coming toward my car along with a friend, I will probably get very defensive as well. The question is, did he react too soon? These things are very dangerous, particularly the lineups. If someone IDs you as the perpetrator in a crime, even if you were far away, you are going to have a messed up week or two. Maybe months if you are a minority.
Very much misleading. However, my take on it is the officer shouldn't had stopped off to the side of the road. There was obvious aggression, but stopping off to the side of the road wasn't necessary. Just keep right on driving, let the other guy fume it out on the side of the road. Absolutely. I also love the last paragraph, puts the whole article into perspective:

NYPD 'Hunting Of Man' T-Shirts Seen On On-Duty Officers In Queens I get the premise of it, but I think it's taking things a bit too far. Especially considering it's the NYPD, folks know the amount of garbage that has been coming from that way, especially in the police sector. The most important thing to remember is that expired plates are not an event that requires ANY warrant for arrest. These cops either (*)(*)(*)(*)ing lied or using unwarranted force as a test.
The state didn't get rid of debtors prisons, it has simply nationalized them. This is the start of a new trend, I'm sure. I'm thinking, though, that it might be commercial tags with substantial fees. Residential tags expire and disappear frequently.

Sad because they'll never know what caused this. Kid got locked up, parents weren't informed, 5 days later their son comes home naked & disoriented, and then later winds up dead on a beach.
