Exactly. This law solves no problem while it opens up a can of worms. The party who hates needless litigation is now the champion of endless lawsuits about cakes, pizza and cumberbunds.

All politicians listen to the power of money. It is my opinion the days of statesmen representing this country came to an end with the assassination of JFK in Dallas. Since then there has been a slow shift to party over country. Loyalty to party instead of nation and its people.

Be it the tea party or those on the far left, the idea each have is to force their political ideology upon the rest of us. Common sense and fair play have been lost I fear forever.

The parties of Eisenhower and JFK I grew up with are unrecognizable today. Perhaps Indiana is but a symptom of this change. The pick and choose as I stated earlier. Anyway, that is my take on things. Money yes, when each of the major parties can raise and spend a billion dollars each on one presidential race, it shows you the major parties owe their heart and soul to those who give them that type of cash.

As for Indiana, either repeal all the laws in all 20 states, be outraged across the board or let it be. Be even handed and fair to one and all, not giving 19 states a pass and condemn only one.

Exactly. And, why some on the left realize we should lower our tax burden by enjoining the right to cease and desist being so frivolous in public and sometimes legal venues.

Especially if they want to left to take them really really seriously about any really really serious relationship with their Republic.

Yeah, the list of BS inapt analogies goes on and on in this thread. None of the above are apples and apples in asking someone to specifically create something that celebrates behavior they believe is wrong in accordance with their religious beliefs, nor are the above examples of the application of these laws. Restating, I am unaware of businesses turning away people merely because they are gay, a proper analogy to the baker of wedding cakes requires more.

Really? this is exactly what they are using to defend their bigotry. Each of those examples are of Christians participating in a gay wedding. My lord.

So now every business in America is first and foremost a Christian, Jewish or Muslim owned and operated business. Interesting. I live in a town that has 4 bakeries, and within a 30 minute drive radius there are seven bakeries. By your logic, all seven bakeries would decide not to service gay weddings if the law existed here. None of them would put profits ahead of their faith? It is that basic misunderstanding of human nature that makes you a proud serving member of the loony left. I would be willing to bet that five of the seven bakeries would welcome the business. Some might even expand their advertising to drum up business with the gay community. In every case that I have read where a gay couple has sued a business for discrimination, the case has included a statement that other venues or businesses were available. So, your argument fails at that point.

What is left is a business owner's protection under the Constitution.

I founded it in another thread. First Church of Christ, Klansman. You have to pay $100 annually to the Founder"s Rolls Royce and Tuscan Vineyard Fund to stay in good standing:wink:

Seriously, it's not even necessary that a religion actually SAYS that you have to hate blacks, the law allows for individual interpretation over a fairly wide latitude. The thing that gets to me is how OBVIOUS the IN legislators made it that they were trying to overthrow not just gay rights but ALL civil rights on religious grounds. These people aren't just anti gay, they're bigot's bigots, apparently hating ALL minorities. Seeing an opportunity to impose a sort of Christian Sharia on us all they jumped at the chance. As I've said, this is what happens when you elect Republicans. Hey, IN businesspeople, how's that "business friendly" environment, now that you have no customers?

Nope what it shows is that government has too much power and human beings are corrupted thereby.

Now you are just being ignorant!

There is no such religion...in other words, you are lying!

Refusing to serve you on religious grounds is not a violation of your rights, you do not have a right to force others to serve you!
