The only number that matters is the number '1'.

Only '1' of those liars above is the President of the United States.

Again, I won't split hairs over the "D" or "R" here, because it's just as clear left wing prop is acceptable to the left. But the point isn't who's is worse, it's why we've become so polarized we accept it in on either side in an form. I mean, I would argue if we held our political leadership to same level of honesty we expect from family, friends, co-workers, etc., trust in government would rise, not plummet like we've seen over the last decade, wouldn't you?

the op is dishonest and there's been plenty of evidence reflecting that

I'm not saying your wrong, but I believe your marriage analogy is over simplifying and your splitting hairs with by using nefarious as the bar in the context of political honesty. A lie is lie, whether it's done nefariously or not it's still a lie. For example, Clinton lied during the Lewinski ordeal, but I wouldn't define his lie as wicked, it was just dishonest, and if not for that, the whole ordeal was rather insignificant in terms of executing his duties as president. However, if we discovered Bush knew there were non WMD's in Iraq but invaded anyway, that would fall into a whole different category of lie and the term nefarious would apply. That said, a lie is still a lie, and when our elected officials lie to us for political purposes, or whatever reason for that matter, it's wrong and we shouldn't dismiss it simply because they're in the "D" or "R" column. To me, accepting or supporting someone who lies shows a lack of character on my part. But then, that's just me.

Rick Perry - 37% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.

No, there isn't plenty of evidence. You suggesting I'm dishonest isn't evidence, dujac, it's just low level, made up, BS and only demonstrates discussing honesty honestly is a either little out your league or just a tad uncomfortable for you....or both.

I actually think Romney's more honest than Obama. It took a lot of guts to come out and say, that yes it was a terrorist attack. That yes, we have an entitlement program(that used to be a safety net) that's bankrupting us at the tens of trillions.(Meanwhile, the Dems want to strictly focus on the 1.6 trillion dollars that the Iraq war costs).

He should've been more honest than he was, specifically about how the state plan he ran as governor and its key differences to the ACA.(As that clearly worked in Boston, but ACA standards have failed in the same state). I wouldn't(and didn't) vote for Romney or anyone else for that matter. But I always believed that if Obama were serious, and tabbed Romney as the next Treasury Secretary, we'd improve instantly over night.

I just didn't like Romney's war rhetoric. The idea of establishing Naval Supremacy would invite even more conflict. But If I were President? I'd definitely tab him as my secretary due to his business savvy and experience. Someone who knows WTF to do in that office.

    LMAO....Yes, he is.
The others were loser wannabes who couldn't cut the mustard with the voters, even though they lied twice as much.
Luckily, the general public is a lot smarter than the right-wingers.
What a kick in the nuts, eh?

I doubt it. Irrespective of the level of we hold our leadership, as long as propaganda media is supported so strongly, people with continue to be deceived and that deception leads to a loss of trust in government, warranted or not.

Of course I did and it wasn't a fantasy at all. The alternative was Romney, who, besides being an apologist for enriching the 1% even more (because heaven knows, the 1% getting 20% of the nation's income and having 40% of the nation's wealth just isn't enough) was more dishonest than Obama, using the OP methodology.

So how do you feel about bigger liars like Palin, Bachmann, Cain, Perry, and Romney, using the OP methodology?

    - - - Updated - - -

And for those who think veracity is important, thank God the "1" wasn't one of the Republican wannabes, using the OP methodology.

I actually think Obama's more honest than Romney.

And according to the OP methodology, he is:

Obama - 27% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.

Mitt Romney - 41% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.

It doesn't take a lot of guts to pander tax cuts to the richest on the backs of social programs that help the middle/poorer folks.

Because for heaven's sake, the 1% getting 20% of the nation's income and having 40% of the nation's wealth just isn't enough for them, is it? Those poor darlings need more tax breaks.

Under the OP methodology, that are all bigger liars than Obama:

Obama - 27% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.

Mitt Romney - 41% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
John McCain - 44% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
Sarah Palin - 53% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.

John Boehner - 53% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
Mitch Mcconnell - 44% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
Michelle Bachmann - 75% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire (including whopping 27% "pants on fire")

Once again demonstrating that your concern about politicians lying was always false.

This thread was and is only about attacking Obama.

Have you ever started a thread that wasn't a partisan attack on Obama or Democrats?

When Republicans were called out for dishonesty you just complained about Politifact.

At this point talking about 'we've become so polarized'- when this thread was polarizing.

And then in your later post your only comment about the list of other politicians lying is that they aren't the President.

If you don't want polarization- perhaps start truely non-partisan threads- addressing the dishonesty of politicians.

    - - - Updated - - -

You then also believe- and have been saying for the last 5 years that these people are pathological liars?

Mitt Romney - 41% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
John McCain - 44% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
Sarah Palin - 53% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
Rick Perry - 37% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
Herman Cain - 68% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
John Boehner - 53% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
Mitch Mcconnell - 44% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
Michelle Bachmann - 75% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire (including whopping 27% "pants on fire")

Well on Bachmann I would probably agree with you.

Well thats the thing- all of the Obama haters here are fine with trusting Politifact when cited by the OP- many of them have even reposted the number- but when it is applied to the GOP- suddenly they don't trust Politifact.

What is telling to me is when someone only accepts a site like Politifact when it says what they want it to say.

Not really, but I could have framed it that way. After all, he has lied. But, as demonstrated by every left wing poster on this thread, you're obsession with defending him doesn't allow for the broader conversation of political honesty relating to our acceptance of it.
Oh well, I tried. Back to the same old closed minded, partisan BS. FORWARD!

    Oh certainly he has lied.

As did all of the GOP politicians that were listed.

Here- I will give you an opportunity again

Mitt Romney - 41% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
John McCain - 44% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
Sarah Palin - 53% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
Rick Perry - 37% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
Herman Cain - 68% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
John Boehner - 53% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
Mitch Mcconnell - 44% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire.
Michelle Bachmann - 75% rated mostly false, false or pants on fire (including whopping 27% "pants on fire")

I can find plenty to criticize Obama for- and certainly you aren't wrong in calling him a liar.

But you clearly are not telling the truth when you claim to be concerned about politicians lying. You have only expressed any concern in any threads about Obama and Democrats lying.

GOP lying so far has not been worthy of any comments from you.
