What's not to like? They promise free everything and that they will take back all the money that the rich CEO's have stolen from me. I'm a simple man, I'm going to take my share and buy a VW bus and paint flowers on it and tour the US.

 

Democrats are now on record promising to raise our taxes, confiscate our guns, take away our health insurance, and open the borders with the promise of a lifetime of free welfare and heath insurance for illegal aliens.

I've never seen anything like it.

After years of not teaching civics anymore (70's) and schools filled with left leaning Marxist sympathizer teachers what would you expect? That is how propaganda works, catch them early.

Good question on funding since none of them were asked about that, well except for Yang who came up with less than 1/3rd of the price tag but don't worry, democrats believe in free money besides free everything else.

But they are moving to the left that is certainly what I have been hearing and if so would be a good thing though it still would be a question on who would finance them and whether they will continue once they get in. The real news were questioning that part - whether it is just an appeal to an obvious desire in the US public or whether it is genuine. They went in to the previous position of some of them which was the opposite. I know people have been saying that unless the Democrats start addressing the real source of your problems which is neo liberalism then regardless of whether you are run by the Dems or Republicans you will be moving towards fascism. This looks possibly like a movement to addressing that. I am just wondering if they will get people to finance them.

 

Well, the only candidate who announces any connection with "socialism" of any kind is Bernie, and he got HUGE public funding last time. So maybe people do accept the idea of socialism more today. I hope so. But while the other candidates say they are not socialist, nearly all of them advocate FDR-type policies of benefit to the public, to workers, and policies that the left like. And that is mostly consistent with the Bernie idea of "democratic socialism". So while denying being "socialists", they are advocating policies of democratic socialism and the public loves it.

Hence, if the Democrats gain control of the House, Senate, and presidency, we can be sure fascism will be beaten back. But then we will also need a huge public organization, like MoveOn, to make the Democrats do what they said they would and keep them on course and keep them honest.

 

I replied no. The left these days are too wacko. I just watch Tucker Carlson wet himself on YouTube as he sums up the debates.

I'm a conservative. I pay no attention to what politicians say because I consider it to be meaningless. I judge them on what they do. So, no, I don't watch political debates. I consider them to be meaningless.
