Are you at all familiar with some of the basic concepts of military strategy and its accompanying strategic deployment options. Do you have a clue about what a second strike capability is?

You think that Iran would get away with it and not be turned to a sea of glass by that second strike ability from their strategically deployed nuclear arsenal - land based missiles, fighter planes, and subs?

It isn't a stretch that one nation who is a declared enemy of another one who actually has nukes would want their own capability. It tends to level the playing field a tad. You now like Pakistan/india, and US/USSR(Russia) as examples.

 

So yet again you are displaying the sociopathic deceptive behavior of stating the opposite of the truth about your enemy- that the person who has the most common sense (i.e. me, as I have just demonstrated) does not have much common sense. I am well aware of the different types of nuclear bomb delivery, and obviously missile silos and aircraft can be destroyed by enemy nukes. It is only submarines that are immune to nuclear attack, and Israel has four nuclear-capable submarines.

The object of amassing nukes and making nuclear war is to devastate the enemy nation so quickly and completely that the enemy's nuclear counterattack is much weaker than one's own nation's initial attack, and is something that one is willing to sustain. That is much easier to do if one has a dictatorial regime that doesn't give a damn about their civilian subjects and the casualties among them (as in the case of the iranian islamist regime), and is zealous enough to be willing to risk sacrificing a large portion of themselves for the greater cause (as in the case of the iranian islamist regime). Another option is for Iran to smuggle nukes to some anti-Israel militant group like Hezbollah or Hamas, and let that group do their dirty work for them, and no one can prove that the nukes came from Iran, so there would be weak justification for a counterattack against Iran.

Israel has nukes both to compensate for its small size and population among nations, militant groups, and peoples in the region that are hostile toward it, and as a deterrent to the Soviet Union (which has been hostile toward Israel and jews since the 1960s) and its anti-Israel successor the Putin regime. But now, the Putin regime is trying to get its zealously anti-Israel allied regime in Iran to do its dirty work for them, so that the iranian islamist regime can nuke Israel and the Putin regime can appear blameless and not suffer a nuclear counterattack. And obviously, if Iran had any need for a nuclear deterrent against Israel, then Israel would have already nuked Iran, because Israel has had nukes for many years in which Iran has not.

 

Firstly, this notion that the Iranian regime would be willing to sustain massive losses in a nuclear exchange is as LUDICROUS as it is BASELESS.
You are talking about an ANCIENT civilization. They would not wish to see their holiest places obliterated nor Tehran turned into glass, and they know damn sure that is exactly what would happen. . I don't want to see any more nations have nukes, there are more than enough of them already. Israel has them and they have the Sampson option and I think that is more than sufficient deterrence. Iran isn't fanatically suicidal and will not risk the obliteration of their homes, culture and religion so this idea that if Iran has nukes they'd nuke Israel is stupid. Pakistan (home of the Taliban and all kinds of other batcrap crazy Islamists) is just as virulently anti-Israel and they have nukes, so why haven't they nuked Israel to get rid of the evil regime? Could it be that nobody is all that interested in committing sucide? that kind of crazy irresponsibility is a guarantee of not picking up any tickets to paradise.

And btw, each nuke manufacturing facility has a unique signature so getting somebody else to "do their dirty work" (e.g. genocide) with smuggled nukes wouldn't protect them.

.....and vice versa. What would the arab world do with Israel once they take it over, which they are incapable of doing anyway because they are not smart or brave enough. Would they take a thriving democracy and turn it into a sandbox just like the rest of the middle east? Maybe that's the point in all of this. They have seen what the Jewish people have done with their little piece of land, something the Arabs are incapable of doing themselves. Making something thrive and actually have their people better themselves. They just cannot sit back and look at the toilets that their countries are and then look at what Israel has done with their country.

How many muslims have won the Nobel Prize in anything over the years? A handful? At best.

I doubt that Iran is committed to the destruction of Israel. I think that is propaganda. Iran should fear Israel, because Israel has a nuclear arsenal, which is the reason Iran probably wants one. You know, it keeps the powers that have them, from attacking the other.

how exactly would this war be waged? You can be guaranteed that none of the arab muslim countries would allow the IDF to pass and maintain supply lines, so Israel can't get at iran with troops, but the same might not be said for the Iranians which would give them a massive strategic advantage.

of course Iran is 8 or 9 times larger than Israel, has a rather formidable air defense system the likes of which the IDF hasn't seen before. Since Israel can't get their major fighting forces within spitting distance, seems their strongest forces would be sitting watching the bombs fall. It just doesn't make sense.

Bibi has said over and over again that he would bomb Iran if the US didn't... and that there are 22 targets in Iran.. The question is how do they get there or refuel since no one will permit them to cross airspace into Iran.

Israel does and should take Iran's threats seriously. Secondly, Israel has had nukes most likely since the late sixties, although that has not been confirmed. If you lived in a neighborhood were everyone wanted to kill you, you would take whatever measures you saw fit to ensure your continued safety.

No, and I have no plans of going to the middle east again. I stand by my opinion. If the people really feel that way, then they should take control of their own destiny, stand up and take their country back. Iran is run by maniacs who deserve to die, each and every one. The people need to see this and do something about it. One gets the government they deserve.

 

First off it is not our job to do anything, the issue is between Israel and Iran, and Israel already has their own nukes and have for many years, they can take care of themselves. Secondly, Israel in not our best ally, even though we do send them over 3 Billion dollars every year, they have never done anything we have asked of them and have even killed US Sailors themselves. Today the Brits are our best allies hands down and have stood shoulder to shoulder with US troops in the war on terror.
