With money being the thing that now drives Washington it has also created a system that only supports wealthy Americans, not poor Americans. In fact approximately 600 million of the 1 billion dollars from super pacs between the years 2010 and 2015 came from just 195 individuals and their spouses. In all reality the system is mainly owned by rich white men, minorities and common Americans aren't being represented. Everyday americans have simply lost their voice. No longer must a politician actually listen to the voters of his district or state, they instead rely on their voter base being misinformed or simply ignorant of what is going on. In fact according to pew research most americans know basic facts about issues but aren't informed enough to know specifics. With new incredibly complex policy coming out all the time you cant really blame someone for not knowing everything, its a daunting task to stay 100 percent informed.
