    Advice to my kids growing up:
    "Take care of business or business will take care of you!"
    Things like, "I couldn't enroll in school because I didn't sign up for the draft."
    Or, "DMV won't renew my license because I forgot to pay my insurance."

    How to fix almost everything:

    Duct tape for when it moves and you don't want it to, WD40 for when it won't move and you want it to.

    Years ago, when I pulled into the driveway with a new sports car I bought, one of my uncles came outside to check it out. He looked it over, put some change under the front seat for good luck and said,
    "Someday you will come to realize that a car is just a means of transportation to get you from point A to point B".
