Incidentally my preferred Republican candidates in 2016 were Scott Walker, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, JEB Bush, Mike Huckabee in that order more or less.

 

Nobody mentioned his policies. Why can't you disagree with his tweets while agreeing with his policies?

 

I believe President Trumps tweets and public statements have damaged (greatly) his ability to advance his policies.

Would you prefer to live under the corruption of Mexico to the heritage we have obtained in America? I am very thankful and proud of the sacrifice my family ancestors made to the heritage we enjoy. Trump is a master of the unforced political error. This is far from the first time that he has either stomped on his own narrative, or interrupted when his opponents were busy destroying themselves.

I doubt that it will be the last. Trump is unhinged, and is steadily getting worse.

Keeping his mouth shut is not a Trump trait. One of the reasons he is such a poor negotiator is his pathological insistence on being the loudest voice in the room and having the last word.

While I have never ruled out Trump getting re elected, I never saw any reason to believe that he would win the popular vote. He pulled to an inside straight to win the electoral college the last time.

But he has done significant damage to his own cause, aside from uniting the Democrats.

He has unleashed a new wave of vitriol from the “deplorables”. They have responded the way they usually do when Trump pushes the race button.

They have rushed to defend, rationalize, and excuse Trump, this time in the most vulgar and vitriolic ways.

Reminding the rest of the country that a return to decency is long overdue, and that job one in that effort is getting rid of the Divider in Chief.

As for a Republican president with some political skills, think Romney. He’s waiting in the wings.

 

I doubt that most of the right wingers on this forum could even name all the members of “the Squad”, much less tell you where they are from.

I’m very sure that few right wing posters could tell you who their elected officials are.
