Pride Is Still a Sin and the Rainbow Still Belongs to God

And why have those things been called sins? At the times the bible was written, it was particularly logical. If somebody committed adultery, eventually this resulted in bastards, not to mention the violation of their promise to another. This harms children. Today, it could be seen as somewhat different depending upon abortion and contraception views, but the core principle of harm to others is still the crux of morality. Homosexuality, on the other hand, has no such problem in victimizing anybody.

We'll run into an impasse though, because you apparently believe in things just because the bible says so... and I find religion illogical and immoral - with Christianity being especially heavy in the illogical department and the old testament (a part of all three abrahamic religions) being heavy in the immoral department. But when the authors of religions sat down and decided what was immoral, it was based upon the conditions of their times - what annoyed them or caused harm to people. Homosexuality annoyed Paul.. for some reason...

Nature owns rainbows .. they're not the prize of gods or ideologies.

Meantime .. they have definitely been soiled by their association with sex. For us that means keeping rainbow images out of the house, off clothing and other personal accoutrements - and also avoided in monetary transactions (IOW we don't use businesses which overtly display virtue flags). A small effort, but I'd still rather rainbows had been left pure .. ie neutral.

I didn't bring up religion. But even in matters of conscience, the behavior is deviant. As for not harming anyone, tell that to those who have to see it paraded down main street, justified in media, those whose businesses are ruined for not wanting to produce products promoting deviancy, or little school children who are being indoctrinated, and the perversion of the meaning of marriage. So no, it isn't a harmless private little lamb. Neither is it gay, an alternate lifestyle, or a virtuous rainbow. It is a snarling wolf that know no bounds.

No you're just acting exactly like one right now because you don't like the rainbow being used by gay people.

You're not just acting like a leftist right now you're acting like an sjw you're a saying the exact same thing they say.

that's your argument it's not usual? I'm deviant in many ways for instance I drive a vehicle with a manual transmission that deviates from the norm.

If what you do deviates from the norm just because of that doesn't mean it's a matter of conscience.
you're acting a bit like a gun grabber here. The fact that I'm gay doesn't harm anybody. It doesn't cause the children to be indoctrinated and it doesn't cause a little snowflakes that can't handle seeing a pride parade any problems just like owning a gun doesn't mean children are dying because of me you are being a leftist you're acting exactly like one.

I'm starting to see all of you social justice warriors at each other's throats as two sides of the same coin.
    Aww poor little victim.

You completely flunked at showing me this warped fantasy that you think I live in and I'm starting to believe you just said that because you're spitting rage at your computer screen which I find rather funny

It takes courage to face the truth. You don't exhibit it on this topic. And it seems you don't even care. Everything you say on the matter is a lie. I think you know it too. You play your little word games like masks you hide behind, even from yourself. Homosexuality isn't gay. It isn't an alternate lifestyle. And it isn't a virtuous rainbow. Neither is it harmless. It's just sexually deviant. That's all it ever was and ever will be. The rest of it is a lie...a fantasy.

Ah... Personal digs always a symptom of a "strong" position.
    about your platitudes?
Is this why you never address any points?
of course not it's two people of the same sex having a romantic relationship.
All deviant means is it isn't usual. It doesn't matter how you feel. I will not be ashamed of it.
    Opinion noted.

There's nothing inherently wrong with deviating from the norm. A sexual practice that harms nobody is not deviant, but a variant. As I said, the core of wrongness is harm to others.

These things are all cultural, and not inherent to homosexuality at all, nor would most actually qualify as harm. If anything, they are a reaction to how poorly they've been treated for no good reason.

School children are taught to accept others, which is good. It's not going to make them gay or not gay.

Marriage is a legal contract. The marriage of other people could be for love, money, kids, convenience, or a myriad of reasons you disapprove of but your marriage's sanctity is personally defined, not by the quality or nature of others marriages.

Feeling offended isn't being harmed, it's allowing yourself to be hypersensitive. Seems like conservatives would know that already. It's okay to not like gayness. That's your right. Plenty of people I just don't like too. But don't pretend they're doing something wrong.

Nope. Just exposing their hypocrisy by turning one of their usual tools against them. It was the perfect way to put the LGBTQ gang on the defensive for once.

It’s called taking one of the tools in their war chest and redirecting it upon them. A perfect counter attack.

I think the best way pointing out hypocrisy is having integrity.
You know I'm gay right and we're not enemies here I think you and I are pretty eye-to-eye on most things

Most gay Republicans I know have nothing to do with the things the more militant ones say and do that we see in places like San Francisco and are not overtly or at all hostile to religion. Most can see the difference between being willing to serve people in their businesses who are gay with no problem and being resistant to being compelled to speak or express themselves in a manner that violates their religious beliefs. The cake baker and the florist both in the news a lot had previously served gay people in their businesses repeatedly until being asked to use their artistic talent to crate something new that expresses something that violates their religious beliefs. Would you pick on a religious business owner to violate their religious belief to make something for you that you knew 10 others would happily create for you?
