How would anyone know she was protesting or praying if the police didn't ask her? This is just weird.

If she was doing this outside the home of a Supreme Court justice - would you feel the same way about the arrest?

Truth is abortion clinics have been targeted so often that the police will always have a high degree of suspicion

Someone would have called the police. We don't have the police numbers to patrol the streets. You rarely see a "bobby on the beat" anymore. Little doubt that she was already known to the police and previously warned of her behaviour and that the area was a prohibited area for protesting. I wonder who was filming

Women have a right to go to an abortion clinic without being harassed

That's info that I haven't read yet. Still, it gets pretty petty if snowflakes start to control us.

Well yeah don't they just use cameras everywhere in urban parts of england? Police don't arrive until the person monitoring the cameras tells them.

Most cameras are not monitored in person 24/7

Think for myself Quote “Or she was violating an ordinance to martyr herself for fake Christian keyboard jockeys”

Yes, it was odd considering the use of the word ‘martyr’ concerning a woman that would martyr herself for fake Christian keyboard jockeys.
So, I ruled out definition 2.That she was willing to suffer for the sake of the principles of fake Christian keyboard jockeys.
I would have agreed with the wording “That she would willingly suffer for the sake of her principles.” I did not have that option.
That leaves only definition 1. She voluntarily suffered death as the penalty for refusing to renounce her religion.

    https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/martyr
Someone who suffers, or is even killed, for his or her political or religious beliefs is called a martyr.

Martyr~ definitions 1. noun One who voluntarily suffers death as the penalty for refusing to renounce their religion.
    2. noun One who suffers for the sake of principle.

Thanks for the article. I did read it.

I have also read multiple sources. I found this one interesting. https://catholicherald.co.uk/video-the-moment-when-catholic-woman-praying-silently-is-arrested-by-three-police-officers/
    T
his article provides the full video starting with the first encounter with a police officer to the middle where she was frisked by a female police officer and to the end when she got in the police vehicle and the vehicle driving off. It also provides the dialogue between the woman and the police officer.
    Snippets from article follow…
A male officer asks Ms Vaughan-Spruce, 45, what she is “here for today” and she replies: “Physically, I’m just standing here.”

He then asks her if she is part of a protest and she replies: “No, I am not protesting.”

The police officer asks her directly: “Are you praying?”

She answers: “I might be praying in my head, but not out loud.”

At that point the police officer initiates the arrest, first by asking Ms Vaughan-Spruce to come with the three officers voluntarily to a police station.

When she declines, he arrests her and a woman police officer searches her in the street and takes her mobile telephone, keys and other possessions before she is led to a waiting police car and driven away.

Lord Pearson has challenged the Government following the arrest of Ms Vaughan-Spruce, asking in Parliament “what assessment they have made of the arrest of Isabel Vaughan-Spruce by police in Birmingham in December; and what steps they intend to take to ensure that the rights of (1) freedom of religion, and (2) freedom of thought, are upheld”.

If, you or anyone is interested. The article does provide a long, too long to post here. Information from the woman and others concerning the matter.

Vaughn-Spruce was doing a "silent protest" within the buffer zone around the abortion clinic.

    4 counts?

She was there previously so do they have her on security video "silently protesting" within the buffer zone 3 other times?

It doesn't matter what the hell was or wasn't going through her head.

Yes, it's clearly a staged event. Three times she had previously been warned. It appears that it was her friend that was filming and notice that the released clip is after the police arrived. Would not surprise me if it was her "gentleman" friend who called the police to start the staged event.

Thanks for confirming that she had been "warned" 3x before

Next comes the gofundme/ilk for her defense and she'll rake in big $$$$ in from fools who think this is a "thought police" "might have prayed" thingy.

Radical pro-birthers are known for their deceptive and sensational speech and actions.

I noticed there was over a week between her arrest and her being charged so the clinic's/residences security footage may have been needed as evidence of her prior 'silent protests" within the buffer zone?

Or she could have and did carry out her silent prayers where she wanted to and is willing to face the consequences. Oh the horrors!

There is not a court in the US that would prosecute a woman who exercised her peaceful free speech in public like this woman did. The UK is a whole'nutter ball of wax as they don't have our protected speech rights. Sad for their citizens.
