Do you also feel sorry for people in the private sector who face layoffs? The government employees actually make more money and should be better prepared to handle it.

True, and you cannot force the government to hand over money if you refuse to work.

Got a link to that? Everything I find indicates starting salary of well over $30,000.

    no, reported on MSNBC

from what I found, it depends on where they're working. New York gets a higher salary than say Boise, Idaho.

In addition to the base salary for TSA airport jobs, individuals may receive a locality pay, depending on where the job is located. For example, a transportation security officer in Gunnison, Colorado, earns a starting salary of between $29,422 and $44,134, which reflects a locality pay of 14.16 percent.

MSN now reporting that Dirty Donald is trying to bypass congress to pass block grant funding of Medicaid to states at vastly reduced levels, thus denying health benefits to millions of needy Americans.

The same IDIOTS that say, NO minimum wage, it only hurts the minorities and youth, then, say, no help for those who cant afford life. Cruel and unusual punishment of the poor and ill.

So, a right winger is talking about US WORKERS, OWNING the jobs? We don't own the jobs. That is COMMIE. Boy you pubs have fallen further than I thought.

I suggest, that your attitude, will have you cut off from corp contributions, with your war on the consumers of cheap labor. Business will deem Republicans too big for their britches.

it's not limited to conservatives, i personnaly know many liberals that are 'steadfast' with economy and earnings while ignoring debt and poverty to the point that they live in some of the worst fiscally inept states yet repeatedly say "we're the best economy in the country".

    how 'blind' is that ;)

That’s not what will happen if they miss their second paycheck. Many government employees will just start quitting. With TSA starting wages being between $25k-$35k the employees can easily find jobs that pay similar range as bouncers at bars, nightclubs or as security guards. They only drag is loss of benefits.
    Don’t expect a revolution.

By the way, air traffic controllers not being paid worries me more than TSA. I have a flight scheduled in a month, politicians better figure out their differences before then.

Every part of this shutdown should worry people, not only because of the TSA and air traffic controllers not showing up for work.

Most retail stores pay the same - about $1 above local minimal wage. Also, wages in Target and in Walmart are generally the same.
You can find Walmart’s throughout the nation that start their employees anywhere between $9 and $15 per hour.

Those are people who can have full time jobs, but do not get a honest days pay for a honest day work. That's what the US has become... give massive tax breaks to the filthy rich and let people who work hard every day struggle to get enough food on the table. They might as well be living in Africa with UN food help.

The FAA has the funds to pay ATC's but is holding back on paying them which has prompted the ATC Unions to take the FAA to court and force them to pay the ATC's.

You watch the MSM too much.

There are plenty of jobs that pay quite well some up to six figures if one is willing to actually get off their butt and work and these jobs are remaining unfilled due to lack of workers willing to learn a basic trade, if someone is struggling just to make ends meet they have problems larger than the loss of food stamps and really need to get their life in order and cease relying on others to help them.

You're just not in touch of life.
    https://www.cbpp.org/research/food-...-participants-work-but-often-in-unstable-jobs

Over half of individuals who were participating in SNAP in a typical month in mid-2012 were working in that month. Furthermore, 74 percent worked in the year before or after that month (in the 25-month period). Rates were even higher when work among other household members is counted: 81 percent of SNAP households with a non-disabled adult, and 87 percent of households with children and a non-disabled adult, included at least one member who worked in this 25-month period.

People simply can not find the jobs you claim that are just all over the place. It is so, because it's easy to assume it's hellish to live on foodstamps while working if there was a way to do what without it. It's not as if there is any pride to gain from working and standing in a line to get a stamp.

Your statement is a contradiction in of itself and no one waits in line for food stamps, the amount allocated is credited to their EBT card each month.

Try getting a clue about the subject, before making yourself look even more foolish going forward.
