After making racist remarks that Africans were inherently less intelligent than other races, Nobel laureate, James Watson, was forced to sell his Nobel prize he earned in 1962. Although a leading expert in the field of molecular biology, Watson became a pariah and was unemployable after sharing his views that Blacks were innately less intelligent. http://www.scientificamerican.com/a...s-watson-s-nobel-medal-sells-for-4-1-million/
I would give him a different Nobel prize: the idiocy Nobel Prize [he even doesn't deserve the "Ignoble Prize"].
Make no mistake, his views are not scientifically ruled out. We know very little about race and intelligence with certainty. But I do agree that some of his statements were needlesly infammatory and in bad taste. The medal was returned to him by the buyer: http://www.theguardian.com/science/...nov-james-watson-nobel-prize-return-scientist
But it's curious how political academia is. Even if his remarks were offensive, that doesn't change who he is as a scientist - one of the foremost experts in the field of molecular biology. At the other end of the spectrum, scientists and academia are often still employed and even defended for concocting data if what they're fabricating defends establishment views. Stephen Jay Gould was employed to the bitter end.
As the IQ chart above shows, black Britons' IQ scores are around 94-95 and there is no significant IQ gap between white Britons and other ethnic groups. Irish Travellers' IQ results (84-89) are much worse than other minority groups perhaps because of their nomadic lifestyle which often results in a lack of proper education, a condition similar to sub-Saharan Africans, and Irish Travellers are genetically identical with the Irish people. These IQ figures show environmental factors play a major role in determining a person's IQ and sub-Saharan African nations' IQ scores are below 80 because African societies are not developed enough to educate their citizens properly. Once Africans immigrate to Western countries, their IQ scores will rise to well over 90.
