Let me be clear, I do not give a single wet s*** about that career criminal who choked and robbed a woman at gunpoint. We do not need those people in our society, we do not need them fathering endless children they won't care for, and we don't need ghetto lottery enthusiasts. Clear?

We can all speculate as to what she means. Until then, all we have to go on is what she says. I will, however speculate that her long term goal would be to "Nationalize" the police and give it the power to "force" her ideology on every American.

 

But the folks defunding aren't the folks dying. It's the poor folks who find themselves as collateral damage to their hideous and destructive virtue signalling. They really need to vote these folks out and replace them with Representatives that actually represent them.

 

Democrats defunding the police agenda does not have widespread support. According to a recent USA Today-Ipsos poll, just 20% of Americans support the movement.

 

Defunding the police is one of the most preposterous ideas to come from the American left since the late 1960's. In order to keep us safe from criminals the police need better funding, more power, more leniency when they kill a criminal by mistake, and more respect. The current era of collective woke psychosis is likely to lead to a Republican backlash, like it did during the late 1960's. As a Democrat I regret this.

What we need are more, longer, and harsher prison sentences, and deep, satisfying cuts in welfare. .

 

I slice the pie a little differently:

• Better recruiting, I think that disparate impact tests have forced departments to accept as officers folks that really are not qualified to be officers. So, better officers, better pay.
• I think they have plenty of power, what they need is community support.
• As Citizen Police, I think they should have no more and no less immunity and privilege than a Citizen making a Citizen's arrest.
• I'd completely change our Criminal "Justice" system changing its focus from retribution to restitution to the victim. And where there is no victim there would be no crime.

 

I do not want police officers who would have made better social workers.
